This year, team Wisconsin has been playing exceptionally well on the court. Although the team could not clinch the 2023 Big Ten Volleyball Championship title, it gave tough competition to team Nebraska throughout the tournament. Interestingly, the team was placed at the No.1 position till its fall after defeat by Big Ten Championship title owners team Nebraska. 

Now Wisconsin’s volleyball team is heading to dominate the upcoming NCAA Volleyball tournament. Due to its popularity and the intense training schedule, Wisconsin is also among the most anticipated teams for volleyball athletes to play with. However, the news surrounding one of its star players is making waves recently. 

Sydney Reed is seeking a departure

As per the recent tweet by College VB Transfers, it was captioned as, “𝗜𝗻 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗣𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗮𝗹: Sydney Reed: Libero/DS: Grad Student: Wisconsin: Sydney j reed.” Syd Reed is among the most etched names when it comes to Wisconsin’s volleyball team. She embarked on the journey to dominate the volleyball tournament with team Wisconsin three years back.

After playing with the Tar Heels during the fall, Reed was transferred from Northern Caroline to Wisconsin’s Badgers. Eventually, for the first time, Reed played in one match for one set against Tea TCU back in 2021. Unfortunately, Reed did not get a chance to add a score to the team’s total, but the next year, she took up the opportunity and played four matches for four sets.

In addition to this, she served nine times and counted one dig against team Rhode Island. This year, Reed got ample opportunities to showcase her true potential on the volleyball alley. This season, she played seven matches and nine sets. Consecutively, Reed set a career-high two service aces. While she recorded three high digs against team Iowa, she also recorded an assist against Ohio State. Now, Wisconsin’s Badgers are heading towards NCAA Tournament 2023. Reed is all set to start her new career. 

Wisconsin Badgers’ next game

Despite performing well in the Big Ten Volleyball Championships, team Wisconsin still needs to get the opportunity to clinch an NCAA spot. But the team secured its NCAA Tournament berth after scoring 802 points in the last ten games. Even though team Nebraska has the only loss of this season, Wisconsin improved its scores.

Now, Wisconsin will mark its 19th appearance as part of Pittsburgh in the tournament after recording 25-4. Overall, Wisconsin needs to re-analyze its game to secure the NCAA Championship title from team Nebraska. This can only be done in the coming matches at the NCAA Tournament.
