Will Madison Quest live up to her family's legacy, or carve her own path at Wisconsin?

One player goes out, another comes in. This is the philosophy of any college sport. Every passing year, a batch of students graduate and make way for newer rookies who are feeling to leave their mark. Like every other sport at that level, this happens with volleyball too, with Wisconsin Badgers feeling the heat of it. The team is set to lose six players to graduation and has thus recruited numerous players.

One of them is Madison Quest. The 6-foot-3 outside hitter will be enrolling at the college in January and will start competing during matches and spring practices. Madison has shown huge potential during her high school years and would be hoping to make the same impact in college. For this, she would need to settle in very quickly to her new surroundings. But, for this, she’ll have her parents in her corner who are already accustomed to the surroundings.

Madison Quest’s decision to play for the Wisconsin Badgers felt like it was written in the stars. This is because both her parents graduated from Wisconsin, representing the Badgers, albeit in different sports. Her father, Matt, represented the college basketball team during his time there, while her mother was enrolled in volleyball just like her. Thus, Madison Quest was also going to join Wisconsin.

She had seen glimpses of the college culture throughout her life in her house. “Our basement is almost like Badger-themed,” Madison told CBS58. The volleyball player’s parents kept her so engulfed in the college’s culture, that they enrolled her in a club team called Milwaukee Sting, where she currently plies her trade-in.

The team’s coach Amy Wagner is also a former Badger and used to be Madison’s mother’s teammate. She likes to refer to the members of her team as baby Badgers. Thus, it seems like her coming to the college was always meant to be. But Madison Quest wasn’t always keen on playing for Wisconsin.

Here’s why Madison Quest always wanted to be a part of the Wisconsin Badgers

Madison Quest’s parents were always hardcore Wisconsin Badgers fans, decorating their basement with team memorabilia. But, despite attending numerous camps in the college when she was young, Madison’s mind was never set on going there. In fact, she had explored numerous colleges all over the country. However, the Wisconsin campus is what spoke to her the most.

She said, “It was never really my dream school, but when I started looking at other schools and other campuses, the campus at Madison really spoke to me with all the memories and how special it was. It just checked everything that I ever looked for. That’s what I kept coming back to, with the tradition there and the excellence of the program. I realized that was where I wanted to be.” She really enjoyed the conversation with the coaches of the team and had thus made up her mind.

When Madison Quest finally received her scholarship offer on June 15, she was overjoyed. Sharing the news with her parents, who were equally thrilled, marked a memorable moment for her family. Now, she eagerly anticipates playing for the team and making a meaningful contribution. With her talent and drive, there’s no doubt that Madison has the potential to shine and leave her mark.
