Last year, after the NCAA volleyball championship final, LOVB Omaha turned heads by announcing Lexi Rodriguez’s entry into the camp. The 5’5″ libero concluded her collegiate career for the Huskers, being the all-time career leader in digs (1,897). She went past Olympian Justine Wong-Orantes’s milestone. Furthermore, in college volleyball history, she has something unique. Lexi is the first libero to claim the AVCA Region Player of the Year title and to enter the AVCA National Player of the Year final. She would enter the professional volleyball league, flaunting such gems beside her name. But things have yet to meet the expectations.
On January 11, LOVB Omaha played its first match in the professional league. The squad handed the opponent LOVB Houston a thumping defeat (3-0) on its home turf. Everything went in Omaha’s favor. But Lexi went MIA in the lineup. What happened to her? Injury? No. She was in Omaha. Then why didn’t she find a place in the squad? When will she show up donning the LOVB Omaha jersey? The answers are coming.
When will Lexi Rodriguez find a place in the LOVB Omaha lineup?

On January 11, the LOVB Omaha fielded a starry lineup against Houston. The lineup had names like Emily Thater, Jaali Winters, Kimberly Drewniok, Jordan Larson, Laura Dijkema, Candelaria Herrera, and Justine Wong-Orantes. Expectedly, Justine made her entry into the line, being the founding athlete of the camp. Pairing with Jordan Larson, the four-time Olympic medalist, she builds the team’s star power.
Omaha’s next game, however, is set against LOVB Madison in Wisconsin Field House on January 19. The match might turn into a perfect Nebraska-Wisconsin Badgers battle in the presence of Jordan Larson and Sarah Franklin. Will Lexi make her debut in that match?
Maybe not.
Lexi Rodriguez had an enviable record against Sarah Franklin. Last year, the duo met three times on the court, and, each time, the libero got the better of Frank the Tank. Then? Why wouldn’t she make her debut against Madison? Because on January 25, LOVB Omaha will play its first home match in the inaugural season against LOVB Madison.
The next day, as well, the squad will play in the same venue. The dates will bring double chances for Rodriguez. What can be a better debut chance than this for someone who has concluded her 4-year-long collegiate career in Nebraska?
Therefore, the 5’5″ libero might kick off her professional career on either January 25 or 26. The situation might change as Omaha has three liberos on the list. But the stars are aligning on those two dates. Meanwhile, Lexi has been seen taking everything gently to her new address. She seems to fit into the situation.
How is the star libero catching up with the situation?
After she arrived in Omaha, Lexi Rodriguez shared several clips on her TikTok handle. Once it went on to display her cooking time, where she seemed utterly serious about her diet. “Trying to get into my cooking era,” she captioned her post.
A few times, she reminisced about the moments she left behind at the Nebraska Huskers. Her best friend from Nebraska, Maisie Boesiger, shared several snippets of old times on TikTok to tease her. Every time, Lexi responded with emotions and fun. In Omaha, she is trying to keep everything normal. In the meantime, she turned her former rivals on the courts into her friends.

In one such moment, the Husker alum posed with Madisen Skinner, the former Texas star, and Madi Kubik, the Iowa alum. The trio stood in front of the camera to record promotional videos. But they didn’t let the moment go without cracking jokes and making faces at the camera. That’s how Lexi is making amends with the fresh situations.
Her fans might not wait longer to see her on the court.
