The Wisconsin Badgers are inching closer to clinching another NCAA championship two years after their first one. The Wisconsin women’s volleyball team has had a brilliant start to the tournament and they’re not showing signs of slowing down. In their inaugural match in this year’s NCAA championship, the Badgers steamrolled through Jackson State with a clean sweep.

Miami suffered the same fate at the hands of the Wisconsin team in the second round. Their third match saw them breeze through Penn State with a 3-1 win. Now, as the Badgers decimated their opponents a couple of days ago for their fourth match, here are the best moments between Wisconsin and Oregon State.

Ahead of their tournament start, the Badgers were seen in a peppy mood as they showed off their coach’s impact on the players’ mindset. Now, it looks like the players picked up more insights from Coach Sheffield than just his on-court behavior! In a video clip shared by the official NCAA Women’s Volleyball account on X, we can see how the Wisconsin Badgers dominated their fourth-round opponents: no. 2-seed Oregon to secure their place in the regional semifinals.

In the first set, the Badgers picked up an early point after a perfect kill by Sarah Franklin bamboozled the Oregon players. A series of determined blocks and Thomas-Ailara’s determination immediately afterward showed the Badgers’ motivation to progress to the next round as they clinched their second point.

During the late stages of the first set, sublime blocks by Caroline Crawford and aggressive attacks by Franklin helped them claim the set. In the second set, brilliant attacks from Franklin, Anna Smrek, and Devyn Robinson again helped the Badgers edge past with a 25-22 win.

However, the Badgers bounced back soon, after a shaky start in the fourth set. Subsequent kills by Franklin, Crawford, Robinson, and service ace by Daley McClellan helped the team to assert their dominance early on. The Badgers went on to win the fourth set 25-18. With such a dominant performance, it waits to be seen how the Texas Longhorns are greeted by the Badgers as they meet this Thursday in Tampa for the semis!
