“I didn’t even think about the crowd,” said Omaha Supernovas coach Laura ‘Bird’ Kuhn while discussing their season opener against the Atlanta vibe. However, that changed as soon as Ally Batenhorst came out to play. “Every time (Batenhorst) touched a ball, the crowd went nuts,” the coach recalled about the former Nebraska Husker making her pro volleyball debut. Since then, the Supernovas’ outside hitter has been on a streak of success. The 23-year-old has made a difference every time she’s played for the defending champions. So despite being in a roster crowded with talent, Batenhorst has carved out her space.
However, her newest achievement didn’t come on the volleyball court. Instead, it came as a significant personal milestone.

Ally Batenhorst’s $74,000 gift to herself
In her latest TikTok video, the rookie pro had a surprise for her fans. While she often posts behind-scenes content on game night, this time, the TikTok started inside an Audi showroom. “Had to be quieter since we were indoors, lol. I’M SO HAPPY,” the former USC Trojan star captioned the post. The video then panned to the $74,000 Audi Q8 she was there for.
Ally Batenhorst then proceeded to give fans a glimpse of the back SUV she gifted herself. “I’m so excited…” said the outside hitter as she hopped on her feet, barely able to contain her excitement. “My gosh, it’s beautiful. It’s so pretty…” she exclaimed during a tour of the car’s interiors and all it’s features. “The all black is exactly what I want,” added the volleyball player.

The video ended with Batenhorst driving the car out of the showroom and onto the street. It’s important to remember that $74,000 is the price of the base Audi Q8. Although Batenhorst didn’t disclose the price, there’s a good chance she paid more depending on which one out of the Premium, Premium Plus, and Prestige trim levels she chose to drive home. However, regardless of the car’s price, it was a well-deserved gift when looking at Batenhorst’s early success.

The volleyball icon’s impact on the defending champions
Ally Batenhorst’s pro volleyball career got off to an incredible start as she debuted in front of a record-setting 13,486 people at the CHI Health Center Arena. And while the former USC star played just a little under two sets of volleyball, she scored six kills and three digs. However, the rookie pro’s best moment came when she combined with Brooke Nuneviller to pull off the play of the game.

Batenhorst turned what looked like a point for the Atlanta Vibe after reaching low to keep the ball alive, followed by a kick from Nuneviller, which the 23-year-old slammed home to earn a point. Since then, the former Nebraska Husker has played just 12 sets out of the seven games the Supernovas have played this season.
Yet despite the limited playtime, Ally Batenhorst has already scored 27 kills and eight digs. In fact, the outside hitter shined once again during Omaha’s dominant 3-0 sweep victory against the Columbus Fury. So it may be safe to assume that buying a new car with her pro volleyball earnings is only the beginning of the heights Ally Batenhorst will reach in the future.
