The Road to Paris Volleyball Qualifier tournament is taking place in three countries: China, Japan, and Poland. This week showcased the best teams from all over the world, coming together to earn an Olympic berth for their nation. Ready to battle for their entry to the Paris Olympics and secure their place in the six Olympic quotas, the USA Women’s team is living up to its agenda. The team showcased its limitless potential through another spellbound performance, knocking out a top-tier opponent.

Going into the Olympic qualifiers, the American team stands undisputed with five consecutive victories under their belt. The jaw-dropping success over five nations catapulted their motion. Recently, they dumped the world number 5 opponent with a marvelous triumph.

USA jumps to one step ahead by crashing world No. 5 opponent

The USA women’s volleyball team solidified their place in the upcoming Olympics with their recent victory over Italy. This was their fifth consecutive win. Before, they played against Colombia, Thailand, Slovenia, and the Republic of Korea. They won with a tantalizing score, including kills (63-58), blocks (9-9) and aces (2-2). Overall, they scored 24 points and gave up 14. The 31-year-old Kelsey Robinson was the star player of the team. An all-rounder performer and an outside hitter, Robinson led the American team to reign victory through the score, including 12 kills, 3 blocks, and one ace. With 16 points under, she emerged as the star player of the game.

Justine Wong Orantes had an amazing 14 digs and 2 spectacular receptions. She played her best. “What a freaking fight and huge team win,” U.S. libero and Team Captain Justine Wong-Orantes said in a post-match interview. Kathryn Plummer also showed her skills and helped her teammates as she came in from the bench. “We practice for this every day,” Plummer said. Also, the opposite player, Jordan Thompson, was incredibly strong enough to fetch 24 points with an excellent 0.384 hitting efficiency. With Coach Karch Kiraly’s expertise guiding the team, there are two more matches planned ahead.

Matches to chase for the US team

There are two more matches in the schedule of the qualifier round. The US team will play the next match with the host Poland on Saturday. Whereas on the 24th of September, they will fight against Germany. However, they will need only one more win to achieve six victories and run away from the hands of Poland, Italy, and Germany.

The US team proudly stands on the top with 15 points. at the qualifies while Italy, Poland, and Germany are in the 2nd, 3rd and 4th rank respectively. The upcoming match with Poland would be a great watch as it will be the last hurdle for the US team. Joanna Wolosz is the captain of the Poland team. They also have a powerful contestant, Maria Stenzel. On the American side, we have Justin Wong, Haleigh Washington, Kelsey Robinson, and Jordan Thompson among the powerful players.
