The Pro Volleyball Federation announced its intentions to revolutionize the country’s women’s volleyball scene and so far, anticipation around the nascent league has only mounted. As of now, seven teams will compete in the league, with more on their way. PVF’s league takes flight on January 24, as the Omaha Supernovas take on the Atlanta Vibes, and fans were in for a treat with a special commemoration of the date.

The Supernovas have been silently adding depth to its roster with past and present volleyball stars from all over the nation. While fans wait to see how the old friends find their balance on the court, the inaugural match of the Real Pro Volleyball had a special announcement to mark the kick-off of the exciting new tournament.

In a recent post on X by Hurrdat Sports, the special moments before the Supernovas’ clash against the Vibes were caught on camera. As the fans waited with batted breath in Nebraska to witness the beginning of a thrilling new journey, they were notified that the date would be marked as a special one for years to come in the midwestern state. The caption of the X post reiterates the announcement of the short video clip, which reads, “January 24th is officially declared Professional Volleyball Day in Nebraska.

As soon as the news is revealed, fans join hands to cheer loudly and display their enthusiastic support of the decision. The Omaha Supernovas has one of the best rosters in the Real Pro Volleyball so far. With stars like Gina Mancuso-Prososki, the Supernovas are a formidable opponent who can give their foes a run for their money. And yet, in the first match of the league, the Omaha team was off to a wobbly start.

A first matchup worthy of remembrance

After the USAV extended its support of the newly formed league, Real Pro Volleyball is set to take over the country in the coming months with a tightly packed schedule. And the very first match hinted at an exciting season to follow, thanks to a breathtaking tussle between the two teams.

The Vibes picked up the first two sets after a hard battle (24-26, 23-25) only for the Supernovas to bounce back strongly, securing the next two sets 25-17 and 25-19. However, the Atlanta team retained its composure and picked up the league’s first win in the fifth set with 15-13 on the scoreboard.
