Nebraska Huskers are on a solid run, which could very well see them lift the elusive NCAA title for the first time since 2017. While the team has always been consistent at the NCAA for the last nine years, making it into six semifinals, they’ve only managed to win two titles in that period. This tally could now increase to three this year, as it feels like most teams would struggle to find an answer to them.

The team has been on an absolute roll this season. They’ve managed to amass a record of 31-2, road-rolling opponents on their way. This was pretty clear to see during their home game against Florida, where they restricted them to the lowest point tally ever scored in a full match with 29. Now, as the team enters the second stage of the regional series in Sweet 16, fans are eager to see the Nebraska Huskers go up against Dayton University in an enthralling game. Many are claiming this to be their first real challenge at the tournament. A former team legend talked about it recently.

In an interview with the Omaha World-Herald, Nebraska Huskers legend Jordan Larson was asked about her thoughts on the upcoming game between her former team and Dayton. The player said that she appreciates both of the teams and believes that they have played extremely well throughout the season. However, there’s no doubt about where her loyalty lies. Jordan Larson heaped praise on her former side and the way they are playing. She said, “I just love them so much, both sides, but obviously the Huskers, and we’re doing great and playing great.”

But, in the end, the player decided to stay neutral, believing that it would be a spectacle for fans of both sides as a great showdown awaited them. However, she did express hope that the Huskers would emerge as the eventual victors. “Excited for a big weekend ahead; it’s going to be fun. I hope we show up like we know how to.” Thus, Jordan Larson knows her loyalties. But the interview came at a time of drastic change in her life.

The former Nebraska Huskers player is all set to join the Omaha franchise at the newly formed League One Volleyball starting in January after spending 15 years in overseas leagues. Jordan seems to be extremely delighted to join the tournament. Talking to Huskers Illustrated, the Olympic gold medalist said, “There are a lot of women behind the scenes and a lot of women that are taking on really big roles and stepping into a place that maybe traditionally you would see someone else doing.”

She added, “Being a part of something that’s maybe never been done before and in that situation has been awesome.” Thus, happy days seem to be awaiting the volleyball legend. Her former team, Nebraska, could add to the party if they win the NCAA title.

The Nebraska Huskers are having a great run at the NCAA Division I tournament. They started with a historic domination against Florida A&M, where they managed to win in an extraordinary sweep. The scoreline of the game was 25-3, 25-9, 25-17, which helped the team break two records in the process. The first was the lowest points conceded in a single set with 3, while the other was the lowest points conceded in a whole game with 29. Thus, it was utter dominance from start to finish.

They then marched on to face Miami in the second round, easily getting rid of them too. The Nebraska Huskers won again in a sweep of 25-19, 25-14, and 25-18. The team was so dominant defensively that they didn’t allow their opponents to reach a hitting percentage of .100. Thus, Nebraska seems like an extremely strong side that won’t be easily beaten. While Dayton could give them a good challenge, fans will expect Nebraska to march ahead to the next round.
