The Purdue Boilermakers Women’s Volleyball Team entered the second round of their NCAA postseason campaign against the Marquette Golden Eagles. Both sides had cleared the first stage of their postseason campaign with dazzling clean sweeps. However, their 1 December battle saw Purdue walking away with the win.
Showcasing an excellent display of skill, both Purdue and Marquette posted big numbers on the scoreboard. Both the Purdue Boilermakers and the Marquette Golden Eagles didn’t say die until the very end. However, the Boilermakers clinched the match in an exhilarating double-deuce win.
Purdue Boilermakers gets breather after dropping a set

Purdue Volleyball tweeted about the high-intensity victory achieved by its women’s team on its official X account. The tweet carried the caption, “This one was sweet.” The Purdue Boilermakers have proven themselves as the Titan-slayers of the Big Ten Conference.

However, the Boilermakers seemed to have found their match in Marquette, who prevented a clean sweep loss in the third set. The Marquette Golden Eagles won the third set in an unexpected deuce. The same thing continued in the fourth set as well.
This made several Purdue Boilermakers fans sweat under their collar, as they anticipated an upsetting reverse sweep. But, the Boilermakers ended up winning the second deuce. The final score read 25-21, 25-23, 24-26, and 26-24. In fact, the major contributors to this victory for Purdue were a sophomore and a freshman.
Young Boilermakers become the Spoilermakers

The Purdue Boilermakers managed to pull off a gritty win because of the unyielding tenacity of its players. Especially, Sophomore outside hitter Eva Hudson and freshman setter Taylor Anderson. Eva Hudson led the Boilermakers in terms of kills and fired 27 burning daggers against Marquette.
She also received support from Chloe Chicoine and Raven Colvin, who added 15 and 13 kills to the total, respectively. Freshman setter Taylor Anderson effectively managed the offensive pattern of the game to keep the Golden Eagles guessing where the next blow would come from.

In fact, Anderson raked up 60 huge assists with her genius to ensure that the Purdue Boilermakers win. The efforts of these players helped the Purdue Boilermakers become the Spoilermakers for another high-performing team. As they now move to the next stage, will the Purdue Boilermakers go on and become the NCAA champions this season?
