With the NCAA volleyball season now finished, fans will now have to shift focus to pro volleyball as more talented players keep joining the league. This is most reflected in defending champions Omaha Supernova’s recruitment as they keep on signing top players who just came out of college. The list for this includes numerous stars like Ally Batenhorst, Creighton star Kendra Wait, and Lindsay Krause.

Now, the volleyball team has announced another further signing of a recent NCAA graduate. Valeria Vasquez Gomez is the outside hitter from Pitt University. The player was picked in the fourth round of the league draft as the 30th pick. While the draft happened a month ago, Omaha has now confirmed the player’s signing in their social media accounts as Valeria has finally left Pitt after a long six-year spell.

The player will join former Pitt volleyball teammates like Courtney Buzzerio, Kayla Lund, Leketor Member-Meneh, and Chiamaka Nwokolo in Omaha. This could hopefully give them familiarity, making her settle faster in the team. If there is no problem in that regard, the Supernovas have a great player in their hands, which everyone who has had the opportunity to face the outside hitter could vouch for.

During her six-year stay at Pitt volleyball, Valeria Vasquez Gomez had amassed more than 1000 kills, a milestone she broke during the team’s game against Virginia this season on November 1st. Eventually, when she left the side after its elimination against Louisville in the tournament, Valeria had a brilliant stat line, which included 1097 kills, 115 assists, 131 aces, and 1309 points.

These stats just depict the amount of brilliance the Omaha Supernovas are taking in their hands. The player’s inclusion in an already star-studded team makes them even stronger. If they can get the synergy right between everyone, Omaha can do even better things.

“The Supernovas are excited to announce Walnut Media USA as its flagship radio partner, with multiple @NewsChannelNE radio stations joining as affiliates for the Supernovas Radio Network in 2025!” the post read. Grant Hanson, an Omaha native from Walnut’s media team, will be handling the play-by-play commentary, while Nebraska volleyball national champion Renee Saunders will also return to the radio show as part of the Supernovas Radio Network. Thus, it will be a great experience for the fans of the team.

With this partnership, the Omaha radio network can aim for a huge audience, as their show could now expand to five states. The listeners could tune in to the numerous channels that will broadcast the Supernovas Radio Network and enjoy the commentary of their favorite team playing. This is going to help get more audience in the league and is thus a great initiative.
