The US men’s volleyball team recently secured their berth in the Olympics and will be heading to Paris next year. While the American team plays excellently together, their dynamism has also allowed them to thrive with other players as well. In fact, these volleyball stars are both winning matches as well as championships in different parts of the world.

Despite the members of the men’s team being scattered across the globe, none of them failed to shine in their respective pro leagues. A recent social media upload shared the news of the success of US men’s volleyball team members across the globe.

The members of the US men’s volleyball team seem to have gotten comfortable with their new environments and rosters. Reports of their exploits from Poland, Germany, Italy, Turkiye, France, Japan, Austria, and many more nations are making headlines. USA Volleyball tweeted about this grand achievement on its official X handle. The tweet carried the caption, “The U.S. Men are settled overseas and off to a great start!”

 The tweet also had images of different American players winning and celebrating with their professional teams. Reporting from Poland, libero Erik Shoji and middle blocker David Smith helped their pro team Zaksa claim its third consecutive Polish Super Cup.

Displaying their talents before more than 10,000 spectators, Shoji racked up 17 receives in the final match of the contest. Moreover, Smith showed impeccable accuracy and earned five points via five kills. TJ DeFalco also played in the tournament, but his team unfortunately lost. 

Despite the loss, DeFalco managed to scoop 30 receptions along with 11 points, three aces, and two blocks in his final match. While this was the report from Poland, the ranked one men’s volleyball nation, the Americans thrived in other countries as well.

Solo performances and clashes amongst each other

While Shoji and Smith played for the same team, some of the US players also battled their national teammates in pro leagues. US middle blocker Jeff Jendryk and opposite Kyle Russel represented Prisma Taranto Valley against Gabi Garcia Fernandez from Pallavolo Padova. Playing in a pro league in Italy on 5 November, the three players delivered excellently, but the result favored Padova in the end.

Delivering an excellent solo performance in Germany, American middle blocker Matthew Knigge scored 13 points and blocked four shots. His effort led his team, SVG Lüneburg to win its 8th November fixture against VfB Friedrichshafen in a close 3-2 contest.

On the same day, opposite Matt Anderson helped his team Ziraat Bankasi take a clean sweeping victory in Turkiye. Playing against Bursa Büyükşehir, Anderson scored 11 points off 10 kills and an ace. With several other members of the US men’s volleyball team dominating the competition in other parts of the world, America looks ready for Paris. Will they be able to pool their experiences in foreign lands to win the gold medal at the Olympics?
