The crowd witnessed an absolutely crushing women’s volleyball game on 31 October 2023. Team Edmond and Team Hentz locked horns at the Athletes Unlimited Volleyball tournament. Setting it right form the very beginning, Team Edmond established superiority from the first set and finished the game with ease.

Team Hentz tried their best to compete on equal terms, but Team Edmond was a couple of notches above. A social media post flashed the news update reporting the towering Edmond win despite a near-comeback by Hentz.

Edmond women’s volleyball team thwarts Team Hentz’s uprising

The women of Edmond displayed a sharper edge right from the get-go as they breezed through the first set. The women in black dominated the court as they outscored Hentz 25-16 to claim an overwhelming first-set win. This was later followed by a close second set, which Edmond swept off with its brooms as well. Athletes Unlimited tweeted about the result via its official X account.

The tweet bore the caption, “Team Hentz takes Set 3 but Team Edmond walks away with the match.” While Team Hentz didn’t amount too much initially, they struck back in the second set. However, wielding higher momentum, Team Edmond stopped the Hentz comeback in its tracks. While this was followed by a third-set win by Hentz, the match was already out of its hands. 

The win didn’t give the women of Hentz any technical advantage. However, they still displayed what it means to put up a fight till the end. In fact, checking the scorecard of the match, Hentz actually pulled themselves back up like champions and made Edmond work for the win.

A mini redemption battle by Hentz in the last set

The women’s volleyball team of Hentz astonished everyone with the way they bounced back from adversity. While they had lost the first set by nine points and marginally failed the second set, they didn’t lose morale. The third set battle saw Hentz seal the round with a score of 25-20. By the time they switched to their top gear, they posted near-identical stats alongside Team Edmond.

While the women of Edmond scored 38 kills in the match, Hentz responded with 37. Similarly, Hentz made 63 successful receptions in comparison with Edmond’s 58. Moreover, Hentz’s 41 digs fell just marginally short of Edmond’s 48 digs. Keeping this top performance in mind, Hentz will move forward in the tournament and begin their showdown early in the next match. Similarly, a win against a team as determined as Hentz will serve Edmond players with greater morale in the next match.
