Friday was intense for the audience at Maples Pavilion. Stanford women’s volleyball went toe to toe with Washington to end the streak that has been haunting the visiting team Washington. Stanford has 6 top-10 wins this season. They are maintaining the two-match lead over Oregon and Arizona State in the Pac-12 standings. Washington started the game with domination putting Stanford at the backfoot.
But the game took a sharp U-turn for yet another dominating victory. Washington despite a great start got out hit by Stanford, from .287 to .228. Despite losing the first set and setting back in the game, Stanford picked itself up to dominate the rest of the sets to ensure their victory. And in the process kept the historic streak against Washington State safe.

The Cardinals started on a weaker note as the Washington state asserted dominance in the very first set. Washington pushed Stanford in the very first set and registered a 25-21 victory over the Cardinals, getting closer to breaking the ?historic streak?. Stanford has never lost to Washington at home and they continued the streak by turning the game for their advantage.?

Stanford Women?s Volleyball congratulated the team with a celebratory post on their X account saying, ?SIXTH TOP-10 WIN OF THE SEASON!!?.?Keeping the streak alive this season for the team. With a .476 attack percentage, middle blocker Sami Frances led the attack. She tallied a season-high 12 kills with five blocks.
Elia Rubin with a team-high of 18 kills, the outside hitter had six digs, an ace, and four blocks. Kami Miner added 10 digs, two aces, and two kills with 56 assists. The setter controlled the offense. Elen Oglivie gathered match match-high 15 digs and grabbed five assists.
The four-set victory by Stanford
After the first set win by Washington, the Stanford revived themselves into the game and by the time the second set ended the Stanford tied the set victory by winning the second set by 21-25.

Continuing the winning streak the third set turned out to be in the favor of Stanford with 25-20 and so did the fourth and the final where the game got intense but eventually Stanford came out the winner with 25-23. Winning the game by 3-1 and keeping the streak alive.

Iman Isanovic was the fierce hitter from Washington who led 18 kills and 6 digs. Adding seven kills was the middle blocker Magda Jehlarova with a .462 hitting percentage and six blocks, the highest for the team. Stanford has now won 13 straight over the Cougars and has improved to 70-4 all-time against Washington State. Stanford will be ending the week on Sunday when they host Washington.
