The Rutgers Sun Knights women’s volleyball team is currently facing a huge number of losses in their season run. While they entered their match against Iowa with a four-match losing streak, they also entered with only one win in their last ten matches. However, the tides changed for Rutgers as they outplayed Iowa, as well as every other Rutgers team in history. B1G TEN Volleyball tweeted a video of the winning shot that made Rutgers breathe normally again.

The tweet carried the caption, “ROAD WIN!! @RUvball picks up the W in Iowa City with this Ace from Kenzie Dyrstad in the 5th.” The match-winning ace came after a lot of hard work. While the Sun Knights won the first set against Iowa, the host team returned the favor and ended up winning two consecutive sets. This put Rutgers women’s volleyball in a tight spot, forcing them to win three back-to-back sets to claim a victory. However, the women’s volleyball team of Rutgers pulled off the necessary to force a five-set game.

To achieve this, the Sun Knights unleashed their offensive output to a great extent. In fact, they broke their 22-year-long ceiling in terms of kills since March 2001 to win the match. Rutgers women scored 72 kills in the match, which is the highest for any previous team of the Rutgers State University of New Jersey. The previous high rested at 64 kills. While the Sun Knights broke past their barriers to claim a win against Iowa, their upcoming match will demand them to be on their toes.
