The Nebraska Huskers has kept the transfer portal hot this year in the volleyball off-season. Some of their notable players who are seeking to explore their inner potential are jovial with the new opportunities. But, it is not the Huskers this time. Another NCAA Div-1 Volleyball team that has its roots in Omaha, Nebraska, US is in the limelight for adding the Kentucky players to its new roster.

One of the most prominent Kentucky players’ transfer is making headlines these days. The notable transfer is none other than the national champion, Elise Goetzinger. Wildcats player helped her team taking it to unprecedented heights during her school career. Now, Kentucky volleyball’s 6’4″ middle blocker thrilled fans by announcing her transfer news.

Elise Goetzinger brings good news for Creighton

Apart from being part of the most prosperous period in school history during her time with the Kentucky volleyball team, national Champion, Elise Goetzinger has now decided to play for the Creighton University Bluejays. Taking to her official Instagram account, Elise Goetzinger declared her transfer. Along with posting multiple joyous pictures of herself, she captioned the post as “super excited to announce i’ll be playing my 5th year with @creightonvb #RDJ’’


With a winning mindset moving to Creighton in the final year of her college, Elise Goetzinger was a starter for Kentucky in their 2021 national championship win in Omaha. Apart from recording 75 blocks this past season at Kentucky, Elise averaged 2.5 kills/set on a .295 hitting percentage with her extraordinary skills. Originally hailing from Blue Mounds, Elise also helped the Wildcats to clinch the seventh straight Southeastern Conference (SEC) titles during her freshman season.

Creighton coach thrills with Goetzinger’s addition

Creighton head coach Kirsten Bernthal Booth expressed his elation adding Kentucky’s key player in his squad. Booth also admired the great potential and enthusiasm of Elise and added, “We have played against Elise several times while she’s been at Kentucky so we know what a great player she is.  We are looking forward to having her on our side of the net! “

In Kentucky, Goetzinger played 91 matches, accumulating 579 kills. Notably, she achieved a hitting percentage of .326, ranking sixth-best in program history. She is also familiar with Creighton. She showcased her skills in previous matchups, earning a spot on the Bluejay Invitational All-Tournament Team. Her connection with Creighton’s middle blocker Kiara Reinhardt is also adding excitement to the recent transfer, as a club teammate of Bluejay.
