The Nebraska Huskers Women’s Volleyball Team successfully defeated the Michigan Wolverines in yet another clean sweep this season. The Wolverines had entered the territory of the Huskers to seek revenge for their previous humiliation. However, they ended up taking another big loss on 17 November.

The Nebraska Huskers utterly ruled the volleyball court right from the get-go and stifled the offense of the Wolverines. A social media post broke the news of the impeccable win of the Huskers over Michigan. With this victory, the Huskers won all its home-court matches this season, a feat they achieved for the first time since 2017.

Sealing the final home match with a massive clean sweep

The Nebraska Huskers played their final home-court game of the 2023 regular season. The Michigan Wolverines badly struggled against the Huskers as they lost the match with scores of 15-25, 12-25, and 20-25. While Michigan found some breathing room in the final set, they failed to convert the set into a victory. The tweet’s caption carried the emojis of a house and a sweeping broom, indicating a home sweep.

The Nebraska Huskers had also defeated Michigan via a clean sweep on 7 October. The Wolverines had suffered an almost similar fate back then as well, as they could touch the 20-point mark in just one set. 

With this victory, the Huskers bolstered their top spot in the NCAA with a 26-0 record. The Huskers will now embark on their final road trip and finish their final three matches. Interestingly, this was also the final showdown of the 2023 season between the Murray Sisters, as Michigan’s Kendall Murray and Nebraska’s Harper Murray clashed against each other.

Harper Murray and Kendall Murray are top NCAA volleyball stars who play for the Nebraska Huskers and the Michigan Wolverines, respectively. The sisters had already faced each other in a showdown in Michigan on 7 October in Michigan. Despite the home-court advantage, Kendall Murray and the Wolverines badly lost to the Nebraska Huskers.

The 17 November iteration of the contest between the sisters wasn’t very different from the first. While Kendall was fresh off a career-high 30 kills, she could only manage to secure four kills in the second face-off against her sister. On the other hand, Harper landed 10 scorching kills against the Wolverines, including a service ace.

While the Huskers are undefeated in the tournament so far, they will face arch-rivals Wisconsin Badgers on 24 November. Wisconsin recently faced back-to-back fifth-set losses, and thus, will fight harder against the Huskers in their home-court revenge match. Will the Nebraska Huskers be able to defeat Wisconsin once again despite being on the road?
