Nebraska Huskers’ Asset Triggers Wisconsin Badgers With a Hilarious Insult Post Semi-Final

The Wisconsin Badgers were the clear favorites for the 2023 iteration of the NCAA Women’s Volleyball Championship. However, they got bested by the reigning champs, the Texas Longhorns in the semifinals in a lackluster defeat.

The Wisconsin Badgers dominated the charts throughout the season and three of its stars even made it to the first All-American team. Sarah Franklin even bagged the National Player of the Year Award. While this is a tough time for Wisconsin fans, a social media clip showcased a major Nebraska Huskers asset slandering Wisconsin with a hilarious but insulting remark.

Treating a top team like a bottom feeder

John Baylor is the voice behind the Nebraska Huskers Volleyball radio shows. A tweet by Huskers Radio network showcased an interview with the radio analyst. When asked about the Texas versus Wisconsin Badgers match, Baylor said that the Longhorns “made Wisconsin look a lot like Iowa.”

This comes off as a heavy insult for Wisconsin Badgers as the Iowa Hawkeyes is the worst-performing team in the Big Ten Conference. Iowa ended their season with eight wins and 24 losses. Moreover, they didn’t just end the season with a 20-match losing streak but lost all 20 matches in the Big Ten Conference.

The Wisconsin Badgers looked in good form till the second set when the score was 1-1. However, the entire game plan of Wisconsin flopped from the third set. Texas folded the Badgers for just 13 and 16 points in the third and the fourth sets. While this remark was insulting enough, Baylor gave a further nuance on why Wisconsin lost so pathetically.

The plight of the Wisconsin Badgers against Texas

John Baylor further added, “Wisconsin couldn’t pass the ball. And so they became really predictable. And so they just kept setting the outside.” The radio voice of Nebraska also took a jibe at the players and said, “Temi Thomas-Ailara, and Sarah Franklin, National Player of the Year, just kept going cross-court. And Texas has a great sophomore libero. And she just kept digging it.”

On the other hand, Baylor had nothing but good things to say about Texas. He called Texas the hottest team in the nation at the moment and also praised their victory against Stanford. Baylor also added that the Nebraska Huskers don’t have the predictability problem like Wisconsin.

Now, the 2022 champions will face Nebraska this year, who won their last title in 2017. While Texas has made it to the finals three times in the last four years, they could only win one championship. Interestingly, they have already lost two finals against Nebraska. On the other hand, Texas conquered the Wisconsin Badgers, which is the only team that defeated Nebraska this year. The battle seems damn interesting!
