Baylor Scheierman doesn’t miss. Or at least that’s what it seemed like when the rising Boston Celtics star made his mark on the court. The Celtics trailed behind Brooklyn when Ally Batenhorst’s boyfriend came off the bench and blew the lid off TD Garden. The NBA rookie exceeded all expectations, scoring a career-high 20 points in just 16 minutes. Talk about making a statement.

The Boston Celtics’ head coach sang the rookie’s praise after the game. “I think he is just a tough kid that continues to work… He delivered tonight. It is a credit to him and credit to the staff,” Joe Mazzulla said, appreciating the player, assistant coach Craig Luschenat, and the rest of the team’s efforts. Naturally, Batenhorst was beyond impressed with her boyfriend’s epic performance.

The Omaha Supernovas rookie outside hitter shared arguably the coolest of the several Baylor Scheierman highlights the Celtics posted on social media. She kept the praise short and sweet. “INSANE,” Ally Batenhorst wrote, adding a teary-eyed emoticon while tagging Baylor Scheierman’s Instagram handle in her story. Yet, Batenhorst was far from the only one celebrating the 24-year-old.

Scheierman’s Boston Celtics teammates were ecstatic with the rookie’s performance. So much so that they surprised the basketball star, showering him with Gatorade while the rookie was giving a post-game interview inside TD Garden. Just as Scheierman thought it was done, they surprised him once more in the locker room. “Wait for it… GOT ‘EM AGAIN!” the Celtics captioned the clip.

Ally Batehnhorst wasn’t done complimenting her NBA star boyfriend either. While she only posted a story on Instagram, the Supernovas star posted a montage on TikTok celebrating the couple’s joint success. “POV: You both get player of game in the same week,” Batenhorst captioned her post. And what a week the volleyball star had in the PFV!

Ally Batenhorst’s massive week in the PVF

While Scheierman notched a milestone performance with a 7/8 FG and 6 3PT, his girlfriend had a similarly memorable week in pro volleyball. On March 15, Batenhorst was instrumental in helping the Omaha Supernovas fortify their position on top of the league standings. The former Husker notched another career-highlight performance with a match-high 22 kills.

As if that wasn’t impressive enough, Ally Betenhorst posted a .362 hitting percentage, 8 digs, and a whopping 24 points. The 3-1 (25-23, 18-25, 25-22, 26-24) victory helped the Supernovas widen their lead against Valkyries who are sitting in second place. And while this performance alone would be enough to make headlines, she notched a stellar performance in another game.

Two days before her 22-kill game, Batenhorst stood out against the Supernovas’ 3-2 win against Indy Ignite. Throughout the week, the volleyball star combined for a total of 40 points, 38 kills, 16 digs, a block, and an ace across 9 sets. So it’s no wonder watching her boyfriend reach a career-high after her epic week as a first-year pro athlete delighted the former USC outside hitter.

However, neither athlete has any time to rest on their laurels. The Omaha Supernovas will rematch Indy Ignite on home ground on March 22. Meanwhile, the Celtics are ready to hit the road. They’ll take on the Utah Jazz for the first of a series of consecutive away games.
