She secured a double-double with 10 kills and 12 digs single-handedly. This was backed up by Lydia Grote who further added 11 kills to Minnesota’s attack. Talking about defenses, Kylie Murr shone and stood tall in the game, making all the viewers sit on their edge. She provided 12 crucial digs, while Arica Davis made her presence felt with five blocks. As a team, Minnesota exhibited an impressive hitting percentage of .387. The total accumulation was 44 kills, 41 digs, eight blocks, and five aces. Whereas Michigan had a lower hitting percentage at .103, they managed to bag 30 kills, 30 digs, three blocks, and six aces.

The star of Minnesota’s attack, however, was Melani Shaffmaster. She contributed a match-high 33 assists. Minnesota’s victory was their fourth consecutive sweep over Michigan and their 12th win in the last 13 matches against the Wolverines.

The Volleyball arena saw a comeback

Importantly, Minnesota bounced back from a major upset to secure their fourth straight victory over Michigan. Minnesota maintained leads throughout the second and third sets, never falling behind. Lydia Grote excelled with a match-high of 11 kills. She made her fourth consecutive match with double-digit kills.

The first set was a tightly contested battle, featuring six lead changes and 13 ties. Minnesota ultimately grabbed the set with a score of 26-24. They continued their dominance in the second set and secured a 25-11 win and took a 2-0 lead in the match. This strong performance carried into the third set, where they closed the match with a 25-16 victory.
