While John Cook will undoubtedly be remembered as one of the greatest NCAA volleyball coaches of all time, his stint as a viral social media sensation won’t be easily forgotten either. The legendary former Nebraska HC’s TikTok footprint could rival the biggest creators of our time, and it’s all thanks to outside hitter Harper Murray. And now, with Cook gone, fans can’t stop being surprised at how the Huskers junior has managed to keep the tradition going.
On Monday, March 31, Harper Murray surprised the Huskers Nations with another TikTok video with Nebraska football coach Matt Rhule. Vibing to Doechii’s iconic Anxiety, the volleyball star and the veteran coach were seen making the hallway their impromptu dance floor. Rhule’s moves hit every beat, and fans couldn’t stop noting their glee about how Harper managed to bring out a jolly side of the coach, just like she used to do with Coach Cook.
The seasoned volleyball coach had little idea about TikTok. Instead, it was Harper who used to operate his account from behind the curtains. But it seems like Rhule instead has himself more updated about the global trends, and he’s not afraid to use it for a few chuckles either. And the fans aren’t complaining, either.

“Unexpected collab,” wrote one fan in the comment section of Harper Murray’s latest TikTok upload. Over the months, John Cook was the familiar face to show up in the volleyball athlete’s videos, and fans had only come to terms with the fact that the duo had to call it quits after John left the Lincoln campus. But it looks like Harper needn’t worry about having supportive colleagues who are more than willing to step up. Naturally, fans were also up to show their love for Rhule.

Along with helping Nebraska become one of the best volleyball teams in the country, Harper has also been an enthusiastic content creator on social media. And it looks like no one in Lincoln is safe from her persuasive charm when it comes to showing their moves on TikTok. However, for fans, Murray’s antics are a treasure trove that keeps on providing them with amusement on a daily basis.
Fans laud Harper Murray’s infectious enthusiasm
Over the years, the star has established a close bond with the former head coach. On several occasions, Murray has noted how Coach Cook has helped her navigate through troubled times. “Never in a million years would I have thought that our relationship would have such a big impact on my life. He stuck by my side and was there for me when I felt like no one else was, and he refused to give up on me even when I made it nearly impossible not to,” she wrote on Instagram after the legendary coach announced his desire to retire after 25 years at the helm of the Huskers’ volleyball program earlier this year. However, it looks like Matt Rhule is helping Harper to overcome the heartbreak, and the fans couldn’t be happier.

“John Cook will be proud of his successor,” on fan believes the former volleyball boss has left his star student in good hands. Cook’s presence in Harper’s videos has whipped up a storm in the cyber world several times, but Matt Rhule seems just as comfortable in the digital space as well. “this exceeded all expectations,” admitted another fan as well.
“Ruhle’s got moves! Hats off to you, Sir!” said another Nebraska loyalist who, like many others, couldn’t process Rhule’s elegant steps and his sassy way of throwing swinging his cap like frisbee. One more fan reflected the same sentiments with their comment, “Coach Rhule was on beat & hit the moves“. Did you also find Matt Rhule to be a natural dancer?
