Let’s hit rewind to November 2024, when Lexi Rodriguez poured her heart out in a heartfelt farewell that had Husker Nation reaching for tissues. “Dear Nebraska, I can’t even begin to put into words what being a part of this program and representing this state has meant to me these past 4 years. When I decided to become a husker I never imagined my journey would have turned out the way it did!” she wrote, making it clear that her time in Nebraska was a fairytale.
Lexi also cherished the honor of wearing that iconic Nebraska jersey, saying, “It has been a privilege to put on the Nebraska jersey these past 4 years and represent such a historical program.” And with one last emotional note, she signed off: “I am leaving this program a more confident & joyful Lexi Rodriguez, and I hope I was able to impact this place as much as it impacted me! There truly is no place like Nebraska, GBR.” Now, fast-forward to today, and Lexi’s rocking her new chapter with LOVB Omaha—but not without sparking emotions from her bestie, who’s already tearing up over that fresh LOVB jersey.

Maisie Boesiger took to TikTok on the 6th of January to upload a full-blown sob-fest with her BFF Lexi Rodriguez. The video had three clips that could melt even the hardest of hearts. First, we see them walking hand in hand, laughing and with all the positive energy you can think of. Thereafter, it transitions to producing a cliché beach scene–all the sunshine friends, and all. But the final clip? That one landed like a ton of bricks emotionally. It showed their senior night, where they hugged each other tightly, tears streaming down their faces, as if the world was pausing for their goodbye.
And just when you think your heart can’t take anymore, the audio comes in with, “We had some laughs…it was fun. You know, all good things must come to an end eventually.” Cue the waterworks. But Maisie was not yet finished with breaking hearts. She added an emotional caption that perfectly summed up the feels: “Me inside when I see Lexi in her new jersey,” right in the feels of friendship!
Well, guess what? Here is another sob story! Yesterday, Maisie Boesiger dedicated a heartfelt video to her two best friends, Lexi Rodriguez and Maggie Mendelson, on TikTok. The video? Pure wholesome vibes. The three of them are just chilling in a parking lot, dancing and singing like the best buds that they are. Maisie’s caption, “Oh what I would give to play with these 2 again…” gets you right in the chest.
And then Maisie adds her own twist with, “Getting sad going through drafts,” tagging Lexi and Maggie, because why not tug at everyone’s heartstrings just a little more? The bond between Lexi and Maisie runs deeper than meets the eye and is truly a story worth sharing!
Lexi Rodriguez and her bestie!
Maisie Boesiger, being the extroverted person that she is, has always been close with her teammates, but Lexi Rodriguez holds a special place. The two have taken their fans on their social media accounts, especially Instagram, through some times they hang out together, from Halloween carousels that read ‘Happy Halloween from your favorite duo’ to TikToks that portray pure friendship goals.
One of the sweetest? A scene where Maisie runs towards Lexi and leaps at her to hug her tightly and both of them hug each other tightly. As Lexi once captioned, “Friendship that starts with sports,” this pair shows that they are not only teammates but also like family. Maisie even went extra for Senior Night and showered love like confetti on Instagram and TikTok. She posted a sweet picture with Lexi and Kennedi Orr and captioned it, “We 🤍 celebrating our besties!!”
Maisie teamed up with Skyler Pierce on TikTok and created an incredibly cute collaboration—Lexi’s dream goodie bag. It was a masterpiece filled with treasures: a pair of fluffy slippers, a matching Stanley, a curler, and hair products, including heat protectant spray and hairspray. They also included lip balms, vanilla lotion, body scrub, mocktails, lavender shortbread syrup, and even an espresso martini kit. If friendship had a playbook, these two are absolutely nailing it.
