“Kicking off the weekend with a sweep!” posted the official Omaha Supernovas page as the PVF leaders absolutely wiped the floor with Vegas Thrill. Yet, the Supernovas solidifying their place at the top of the standings was far from the only highlight of the night. Enter Nebraska Huskers star Harper Murray and now ex-head coach John Cook.
While Murray is becoming a familiar face at the Supernovas games, Cook almost blew the lid off the stadium. He might have gotten the loudest cheer of the night, the PA announcer informed everyone in attendance. Cook took a break from enjoying retirement in Wyoming to catch a glimpse of yet another ex-Husker making waves with Supernovas. And who better to join Coach Cook than his favorite pupil?
Yet the iconic Huskers duo reuniting wasn’t the only heartwarming moment for Nebraska volleyball fans, either. Former Husker Ally Batenhorst, who has been shining bright in her debut season as a pro, thanked her ex-teammate. Instead of throwing the mini-ball into the stands, Batenhorst got out of line and handed it to Harper Murray herself.
