The Nebraska Huskers continued their march and eliminated the highly skilled team of Pittsburgh Panthers from the NCAA Women’s Volleyball Championship. The Panthers had made their way to the semifinals after winning the ACC title but were sent back home the third consecutive time with a final-four defeat.

The stands and the volleyball court erupted with joy when the whistle for Nebraska’s match point was blown. But, a social media post showcased that the Nebraska Huskers are still in business mode. The Huskers radiated the same vibe with their words as late NBA legend Kobe Bryant.

Nebraska Volleyball tweeted a video of the match-winning shot that secured the spot in the finals for its women’s team. The tweet carried the caption, “JOB’S NOT FINISHED. YOUR HUSKERS ARE HEADED TO THE NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP.” The same words were said by Los Angeles Lakers legend Kobe Bryant in 2009.

Interviewers asked Bryant why he still had his game face on, despite having a 2-0 lead in the NBA finals. The Black Mamba responded by saying that the job was still not finished till he won the championship. Following through with this resolve, Bryant and the Lakers lifted the NBA trophy by beating the Orlando Magic by 4-1.

The Nebraska Huskers are right on track with the Mamba Mentality, despite winning their match against Pittsburgh via a clean sweep. The Panthers tried their best to spear through the defense of the Huskers on the back of Olivia Babcock, but Nebraska’s bastion held strong. The Huskers limited Babcock to just 12 kills in the giant semifinal match.
