Sergio Garcia is steadfast in his support for the Texas Longhorns, confidently backing the reigning NCAA volleyball champions to defend their title. Even the Longhorns’ recent inconsistent form hasn’t shaken his belief. Meanwhile, Nebraska volleyball coach John Cook is determined to push his squad further this season. Last year, the Huskers suffered a heartbreaking loss to the Longhorns in the NCAA final, despite an undefeated season leading up to that point. This year, Nebraska is aiming for nothing less than the championship title. Add to this mix the aspirations of the other 14 teams, and the stage is set for some thrilling matchups in the Sweet 16 round of the competition.
Being volleyball fans, would you folks want to miss the experience of watching the games live? Let me break the news. The dates are already on the plate. On December 7, just hours after the second-round matches, the NCAA volleyball announced the dates for the Sweet 16 rounds. Also, a chunk of information regarding the huddles also came to the public. The posted update showed three dates scheduled to host the Regional semifinal games. Furthermore, a detailed note on the fixture was also released. However, the authorities took time to disclose the venue. After a few hours, everything was shaped like clear daylight. The fans got the chance to know about the hosting venues. But what about the tickets? Again, this time, the top seeds have the responsibility to sell the tickets. And tickets are available for both buyers: for the season ticket members and the fans wanting to buy single match tickets. Example?

On December 12, No. 4 Purdue Boilermakers have the semifinal match scheduled against Louisville. In the Louisville regional, the host will play the game in Freedom Hall. Now, as far as the tickets are concerned, fans will have to buy the tickets from the official website of Louisville. The lowest price for the single match tickets will be $25. Only a fixed set of rows is available currently. Tickets are available only on a ‘first come, first served’ basis. For the season tickets, the members would need to log into the official website. Apart from the official website, tickets can be bought from stubhub.com.
On StubHub, tickets for matches featuring other regional teams are also available, and the prices are slightly lower. For instance, tickets for Florida vs. Stanford and Purdue vs. Louisville are priced at around $22.70 each—a bargain compared to the official website! Unfortunately, tickets for Nebraska volleyball matches have already sold out. This means tickets for the matches hosted at the Bob Devaney Sports Center are no longer available to the public.
But don’t be discouraged! Another top contender, Penn State, has made all-season tickets available on its website. Single-match tickets will also be released on December 11. On Friday the 13th, Penn State will host the semifinals in Rec Hall for the first time since 2017, adding to the excitement in the air. However, some fans have voiced concerns over certain aspects of ticket availability and pricing.
What is keeping eye fans infuriated?

On December 12 and 13, NCAA volleyball will host eight semifinal games. The four Regional leaders (Pittsburgh, Louisville, Nebraska, and Penn State) will host the matches on their home turf. On each day, the first match in a Regional semifinal will come at 1 pm and the next one will follow in the next 30 minutes of the first one. This applies to the second set of games. 7 pm will be the official time for the second set. And the rest will follow as mentioned. Altogether, the schedule will bring in an intense atmosphere in the arenas. But would it bring all the fans into the arena in those hours?

As per several fans, the scheduling of matches in the working hours feels absurd. That seems justified! A few fans have argued over the cross-timing, as several basketball games have been scheduled at the same time. Late availability of the tickets has also brought pain. However, things may take time to settle down. As per the hosts, the single-match tickets will be online in a matter of time. Till then, would you like to tell us about your picks among the teams?
