The Nebraska Huskers Volleyball team has once again proven their dominance. The latest clinch came in the sport by securing the top overall seed in the NCAA Tournament. This achievement speaks volumes to their exceptional performance throughout the season, which saw them maintain a near-perfect record and secure the Big 10 Championship.

Continuing their saga, the Huskers have had an outstanding season. One of their matches witnessed a record number of attendees at a women’s sporting event, with a staggering 92,003 spectators. This achievement not only underscores the team’s popularity but also highlights the growing interest in women’s sports.

The top slot ‘dancing’ for Nebraska Volleyball

This volleyball season, the Huskers have had an outstanding performance. They have an overall record of 28-1 and a conference record of 18-1. Currently, they have been undefeated at home, with a record of 17-0, and have also performed exceptionally well in away games, with a record of 10-1. Their only loss came toward the end of the season, but it did not deter them from their path to success. Celebrating their phenomenal feat, the Nebraska Volleyball on Twitter quoted – “Going dancing,” after being ranked the no. 1 overall seed for the NCAA Tournament.

The team, under coach John Cook, enjoys being one of the most decorated in women’s volleyball. They already have five national championships in their kitty. And, under his coaching, the Huskers maintained a perfect record to secure the Big 10 Championship outright after a remarkable seven-year drought. Alongside this win, Nebraska became one of the first five teams to qualify for the upcoming NCAA tournament.

The next run for glory for Nebraska

The Nebraska Huskers Volleyball team, after securing the top overall seed in the NCAA Tournament, is all set for their next run for glory. They will be playing at home for the first two weeks of the three-week tournament. The other No. 1 seeds are Stanford, Wisconsin, and Pitt. The first two weekends of the NCAA Tournament will be hosted by the No. 1 seeds, with the Semifinals and Final taking place in Tampa Bay.

Looking ahead, the future seems promising for the Huskers. They have signed a top-ranked recruiting class for 2023, which includes some of the top prospects in the nation. This includes setter Bergen Reilly (No. 4 overall), outside hitter Harper Murray (No. 2 overall), opposite hitter Caroline Jurevicius (No. 7 overall), libero Laney Choboy (No. 5 overall), and middle blocker Andi Jackson (No. 13 overall). These new additions to the team are expected to bolster the Huskers’ performance in the upcoming seasons.
