The Omaha Supernovas routed the Columbus Fury in a clean sweep win of 3-0. The Nebraskan pro-series volleyball team debuted their first match of the season at the CHI Health Center in Omaha on the 31st of January 2025 in front of a staggering crowd of 11,712. As if the landslide victory wasn’t a good enough reason for the match to be trending, it stole the spotlight for having the most star-studded array of cheerleaders who came out in support of the Supernovas. Indeed, great gameplay is a prerequisite for success, but so is audience support.
The Supernovas attracted several superstars, whose solidarity with the team motivated the players to steamroll the Columbus Fury. The Nebraskan city has been making headlines recently for having seen the largest spectator turnout for a lot of their games. We don’t just mean the Supernovas; even for games involving the Huskers, the support has been tremendous. We were able to spot some famous faces, a few close to the sport and some more in the audience. So who all did we see at the game?

Harper Murray—#1 volleyball fan girl
Harper’s no stranger to the Nebraskans; instead, she is their hometown hero. Harper Murray, an outside hitter for the Nebraska Cornhuskers, has been a consistent cheerleader not only for the Omaha Supernovas but also for the LOVB Omaha team.

Harper’s presence at the game had the crowd going crazy. Her infectious energy as a player and as a cheerleader is contagious.
Heinrich Haarberg—the Omaha Supernovas fan girl’s beau
Heinrich Haarberg is also another constant among the Huskers. The footballer is in his junior year and is the No. 2 quarterback for the Huskers football team. Haarberg also happens to be dating Harper Murray. This Husker quarterback is talented even around a hoop. Just before attending the Omaha Supernovas volleyball match, Haarberg was spotted at the Huskers basketball game against Illinois. At halftime, the footballers were invited to participate in a slam dunk contest, and guess who won?

Most people are multitalented. But Haarberg is a sport at multisport. How do you think he will fare in volleyball? These lovebirds have often been spotted cheering for each other and for the Huskers during their most crucial games. They are setting a couple goal that we aspire to have.
Dylan Raiola—another Husker quarterback, fan of Omaha Supernovas
Another fresh face at the courtside in support of the Omaha Supernovas was Dylan Raiola, a true freshman and a quarterback of the Huskers football team. Fun fact about Dylan: This quarterback is the reason that the Huskers football team became bowl eligible last season.

He led the Huskers to victory in their game against Wisconsin that led to the Huskers becoming bowl eligible since 2016. The Huskers are indeed a tight-knit family in the world of college sports.
Dayton Raiola—a future Husker quarterback
It was raining footballs in a volleyball match, don’t you think? We think it was by association with family. Dayton Raiola is a future Husker who we will be seeing in red in 2026. He’s already verbally committed to the Huskers. Dayton is Dylan’s brother if you haven’t guessed that already.

The Huskers have a knack for spotting talent early. By committing to the Huskers, Dayton will be learning from the best and, of course, from his brother. The brothers are a perfect example of genes we should aspire to have.
Matt Rhule, the Huskers football coach
Coach Rhule followed his boys into the stadium to support the Supernovas. And he didn’t come alone. He brought his family with him to the game. Coach Rhule’s presence turned the group into a power-packed squad of cheerers for the Omaha Supernovas. No wonder they won.

As soon as Coach Rhule spotted his boys and Harper, they leaned in for a quick hug before he proceeded to sit with his family to watch the game. The Huskers are home to some legendary coaches, including but not limited to Coach Rhule and the now-retired coach John Cook.
Terrance Bud Crawford—former boxing champion
Crawford, a former boxing legend and a true Nebraskan, was also at the stadium to cheer for the ladies. While many flocked to see him, Crawford was seen posing for a picture with Dylan Raiola. Crawford’s list of achievements is exhaustive, but to name a few, he holds four championships in four weight classes, from light to light middleweight.

We’ve understood one thing from the Huskers and Nebraska in general. The support and respect for their own and homegrown talent is immense. The camaraderie among athletes, sportsmen, and sportswomen is inspiring, to say the least. The act of just showing up to each other’s games is a gesture that goes beyond words. This also puts into perspective the reason why highly gifted ex-Huskers such as Lexi Rodriguez, Ally Batenhorst, and Lindsey Krause chose to sign with Omaha-based teams for their pro-series league debut.
We won’t go so far as to say that Murray was the common link to the star-studded spectator affair. But every time that the two professional volleyball teams, namely the Omaha Supernovas and the LOVB Omaha, have played, Harper Murray has brought in her own squad to cheer from the sidelines. We think this is the secret behind Omaha’s teams’ success.
