This Penn State volleyball star has long before transitioned into a successful coach. Doing wonders for Georgia Tech, the 36-year-old has been a shining star in the NCAA coaching realm. However, much before she became an accomplished coach, she shined in the collegiate volleyball realm. Donning the Penn State jersey, the athlete won the national title a whopping 4 times. Displaying incredible expertise as a middle hitter, she was awarded with the AVCA All-American at Penn State on three different occasions.

With an impressive career as an athlete, Arielle Wilson’s CV as a coach has been phenomenal too. Working as the defensive and recruiting coordinator Missourie, Wilson did an incredible job helping the Tigers reach the Sweet Sixteen in 2024. Wilson also ensured that Missouri had a 22-9 overall win-loss record as they finished third in the Southeastern Conference boasting an 11-5 record. Incidentally, this was the very first instance of Missouri racking up more than 20 victories in a season since 2019.

Wilson also worked wonders for Georgia Tech leading the Yellow Jackets to four consecutive postseason appearances. Continuing her joyride, Arielle Wilson has just upped her coaching game to a whole new level. In an announcement on Monday by Zyzelewski Family Vice President/Director of Athletics Amy Folan, Wilson was named as the head coach of Central Michigan University. More reports coming in have stated that the 36-year-old will be formally introduced to the team on January 14, 2025, in a ‘Welcome to CMU’ event.

While this would be a huge responsibility for Wilson, the authorities seem to be utterly happy with the acquisition. “We are excited to have Arielle Wilson coming to Central Michigan University to lead our women’s volleyball program,” Amy Folan stated. She also pointed out that Wilson’s extensive experience makes her fit perfectly into the program. Folan also clarified her goals of competing at the top of the MAC.

Having gotten one of the biggest breaks of her life, Arielle Wilson also seemed thrilled. Speaking to getsomemaction.com, the recently appointed HC of Central Michigan University extended her thanks to the authorities. “I cannot thank Amy Folan, Tangela Cheatham, and CMU President Dr. Neil MacKinnon enough for this amazing opportunity to be the next head coach at Central Michigan University,” said Wilson. And while she is excited to take up the big responsibility, this is not the first time Wilson has been in a challenging position. She was recently associated with the USA National Women’s Volleyball team that played in the Paris Olympics 2024.
