It doesn’t matter if you win or lose the battle. When the beacons are lit, Rohan shall answer! And that was the exact thought a former Nebraska Husker star had last night. Playing for the Omaha Supernovas, the outside hitter didn’t have a great Sunday. The defending PVF champs suffered their second loss of 2025 at the hands of the San Diego Mojo. However, when duty called, the volleyball celebrity didn’t fail to step up.

Ex-Nebraska athlete Lindsay Krause was drafted by the Supernovas as the 17th overall pick last December. The Huskers alum has been a major contributor to the Omaha team’s success this year in her first pro season. And yet, despite all her efforts, the reigning Real Pro Volleyball champions were met with another setback in their latest match at home. But win or lose, Krause is going to go all-in every time.

A post by Nebraska staff writer Abby Barmore on X from January 20 noted how Lindsay did her best to hold the fort despite in the face of adversity on the day before. “Former Husker Lindsay Krause provided a spark for the Omaha Supernovas with 6 kills on 8 swings against San Diego,” the social media update hails the Nebraska Huskers graduate for her determination to keep fighting. The post also shared Krause’s words about what went through her mind when head coach Laura “Bird” Kuhn called her into action.

My number was called and I was told to go in there and take big rips, and that’s what I’m good at. So I said, “Yes, ma’am,” ” the OH said about how she wanted to lend a shoulder to the team as the San Diego squad kept them under pressure. Undoubtedly, her motivation was amplified by the 12,723 fans who had flocked to the arena to watch the scintillating action, and the Nebraska Husker sensation didn’t let them down, either.

The Supernovas lost 3-1 on Sunday, just two days after losing for the first time in 2025 to Vegas Thrill (3-2). Considering the Omaha battalion boasts a beefy roster, and are looking to defend the PVF title, the double blow to the guts is undoubtedly a hard pill to swallow, even more with the huge number of fans continuously cheering for them. However, while this calls for overhauling the game plan for the upcoming matches, Krause and her teammates are also having to deal with widespread rumors about their future in the Pro Volleyball Federation scene.

The Nebraska Husker alum could be taking on newer challenges soon

Just a few days ago, Omaha Supernovas’ owners were revealed to have founded a pro volleyball league that’s slated to begin its voyage in 2026. The MLV (Major League Volleyball) has received backing from celebrities across various domains including Olympic gold medalist volleyball player Kerri Walsh Jennings and Sacramento Kings’ chairperson Vivek Ranadivé as well as $100m in funding. Naturally, with the owners’ hands in both pies, fans are now speculating if the Nebraska Huskers star and her squad will be moving on to newer territories after the 2025 PVF season comes to an end.

But Coach Kuhn has her sights set on the current task for now. “We’re here in season. We’re focusing on winning a championship here and doing our jobs, and that’s really been our only focus,” she clarified that the title defense is at the top of the team’s priority list, and future thoughts aren’t something to dabble in at the moment. The Supernovas will be taking on Columbus Fury at the Nationwide Arena next Friday, and will surely be looking to leave their rough patch behind in any way possible.
