The moment Caroline Jurevicius started her volleyball career, she only had one goal. To win the NCAA championship. Last year, donning the Huskers’ jersey, Jurevicius and her team faced a resilient Texas Longhorns. Despite their best efforts, Nebraska failed to win as Jurevicius sat on the bench, pained to see her dreams get shattered. Now, this was something that did not sit well with the young volleyball prospect.
Unable to get significant game time, Jurevicius decided to find a new home at Penn State. And how quickly fate has turned. Lamenting over missing out on a championship opportunity last season, Jurevicius has become the star of Penn State. Defeating Louisville in the finals with a scoreline of 3-1, Jurevicius is now an NCAA champion. Now, her journey from Nebraska to Penn State might look like a smooth one. After all, the 20-year-old announced her decision to leave the Cornhuskers immediately after last year’s finals.
Within a week, the star prospect signed with the Nittany Lions. However, the reality was quite different. She still had an emotional attachment to her previous team. This was evident from her gesture of embracing Andi Jackson after a devastating semi-final loss. Thus, she needed a significant amount of outside help to process her mental state well enough to guide the Nittany Lions past the Huskers not once, but twice this season. “I think it’s jarring the juxtaposition of the two,” said Jurevicius.

“I am very proud of where I’ve come from and I’m beyond grateful for the people that have gotten me to this point and helped me become a better person and player, getting healthier mentally. I really have no words because I don’t know if there’s a way to describe what the difference is,” an emotional and elated Jurevicius stated. This is particularly a happy moment for the 20-year-old as she still has three more years left to establish her reign of dominance further for Penn State.
Meanwhile, competing in the finals, Caroline Jurevicius was a treat to watch. Erasing the memories of last year’s finals, Jurevicius became the star that led the Nittany Lions to their title. Surprisingly, the young volleyball prospect had an honest confession to make regarding her NCAA championship point.

Jurevicius also mentioned that this year things felt a lot more different. This time, she was in the court, soaking in all the emotions. The 20-year-old also compared the feeling to last year’s. Sitting out on the sidelines, she had no control of the game other than to witness her team lose the National title. Thus, with fate giving back to her the flowers, it now remains to be seen how well can Caroline Jurevicius continue her winning momentum.
