Wisconsin has been the primary focus of every volleyball spectator due to its arch-rivalry against the Nebraska Huskers. In the annals of collegiate volleyball, Nebraska’s and Wisconsin’s matches are among the most viewed matches. Nowadays, both teams are featured in the ongoing NCAA Volleyball tournament.

In the first two rounds of the tournament, Wisconsin has been performing well and has made it to the third round of the event by defeating competitors along the way. However, this time, Wisconsin’s limelight is not because of its recent performance. Rather, the Badgers are celebrating one more accolade of their coach.

As the recent tweet by Wisconsin’s volleyball team was captioned, “That’s now SIX AVCA All-Region Coach of the Year awards for our fearless leader!“. Recently, the Wisconsin Badgers coach for the last ten years has added another feather to his cap. Impressively, for the sixth time, Kelly Sheffield has achieved the honor of the AVCA All-Region Coach of the Year.

Even though the Wisconsin Badgers claimed fourth place at the 2023 Big Ten Volleyball Championships, this must be just an anomaly. Under the valuable guidance of Sheffield, Wisconsin’s team clinched the NCAA Tournament in 2021, outshining all the competitors.

Yet, Kelly Sheffield remains hungry for success this season, expressing a desire to reveal Wisconsin’s true colors in the ongoing 2023 NCAA Volleyball Tournament. Even though the Wisconsin Badgers could not clinch the Big Ten Championship title this season, it is aiming for the ongoing NCAA Volleyball Tournament 2023.

Upcoming clashes of the team

In the past two rounds of the NCAA Tournament, Wisconsin has been performing exceptionally. Interestingly, in both rounds of the NCAA Tournament, Wisconsin’s Badgers defeated the opponent with a clean sweep 3-0. But the intensity of the tournament would increase as it levels up. The primary reason for the anticipation of Wisconsin’s upcoming matches is to watch it knocking off the opponents along the way until the team locks horns with arch-rival Nebraska.
