Ally Batenhorst had been a talismanic presence for the Cornhuskers for a long time. But with her transferring last year and moving to USC, those fortunes came to an end. At 6-foot-5, the Omaha native is one of the biggest names in collegiate volleyball, both literally and figuratively. But time and again she has proved that she still belongs to Nebraska.

In the recent clash with her former team as part of the USC Trojans, it was evident what the state of Nebraska means to her. She received a thunderous ovation both before and after the match. And while the failure of not being able to win the NCAA championship in her senior year hurts, Ally has a new goal.

With college behind her, Ally Batenhorst is looking to turn pro. And in a twist of fate, the team she is going to be part of is none other than the Omaha Supernovas. Always a loyal member of Nebraska, in a recent interview with HuskerOnline, she reflects on her time with the Nebraska Huskers. Ally mentions, “Nebraska has the tradition of being the best, and we have seen that year after year.”
