Omaha Supernovas star Ally Batenhorst is back to her TikTok shenanigans now that the app is back online. Thanks to President Trump, the app earned a 75-day extension, and the 170 million U.S. users of the app, including Batenhorst, couldn’t be happier. So earlier, inspired by fellow volleyball star Sarah Franklin, Batenhorst made an embarrassing confession.
Batnehorst’s confession was about the stellar college volleyball career and reaching the 2023 National Championship semifinals with the Nebraska Huskers. While getting to the championship semifinals is a massive achievement in itself, Batnehorst recalled how she made a blunder in a match that over a million people watched live.

The former Nebraska Husker posted an awkward, grinning selfie with the song ‘She’s So Perfect’ by 5 Seconds of Summer, with the confession in the closed caption. “‘You’re so funny!’ – Thanks, I hit the ball under the net during the 2023 national semifinal match in front of 1.1 million viewers,” wrote Batenhorst while revealing her blunder.
And though it was an embarrassing detail, Batenhorst is now in a position to find it amusing. In fact, she even joked about it in the caption. “Still made it to the natty tho #ncaavolleyball #nebraskavolleyball,” wrote the 23-year-old. Ally Batenhorst also revealed that former Wisconsin star Sarah Franklin had inspired her to hop on the trend.
“@Sarah Franklin inspired me to make this,” added the rookie pro. Franklin had made a similar post earlier while hopping on the ‘You’re so funny’ trend on TikTok. “You’re so funny!” – Thanks, I served a ball under the net at Nebraska in front of 8k fans,” the LOVB Madison player wrote on TikTok. Needless to say, Batenhorst’s blunder happened during a match with higher stakes.
However, the takeaway from the video was not that they had made the blunder, but that Ally Batenhorst and Sarah Franklin have learned from such mistakes. And it was this relentless pursuit of excellence that led to Batenhorst making a memorable PVF debut.
A debut to remember for Ally Batenhorst
After finishing the final year of college at USC, the former Trojan became one of the most sought-after players during the 2024 PVF Draft in November. And it didn’t take long for the college volleyball icon to get picked by the Omaha Supernovas either. The defending PFV champions picked up Batenhorst early in the draft, as the 15th overall pick.

However, Ally Batenhorst showed exactly what the hype was about during her debut. Batenhorst debuted on January 10, 2025, as a substitute for the Supernovas against Atlanta vibe. While 1.1 million people didn’t tune in to watch her debut, a pro volleyball record-setting 13,486 people attended the game inside CHI Health Center Arena. Yet, this time, the former Husker made no mistakes, giving a stellar performance and making what became the play of the game.
Coming on for Cooper Reagan, Batenhorst synced up with Brooke Nuneviller to put the team on the offensive. Her individual numbers? She scored a total of 6 kills in the last two sets, with the final one being only a 15-point set. Her efforts helped the defending champion defeat the Atlanta Vibe in a thrilling 3-2 (22-25, 25-19, 22-25, 25-22, 15-13) contest. So it’s not surprising to see why the rookie pro isn’t stuck on the mistakes she made in the past.
