Nebraska Huskers’ 25-game winning streak came to a brutal end against Penn State as they ended up losing to them 3-1 with a scoreline of 25-21, 14-25, 25-22, 25-23. Former Husker Caroline Jurevicius stood out for the Nittany Lions as she made 18 kills in the whole game. This has led Nebraska into a sticky situation as the NCAA Division I tournament awaits them.

They must now rediscover their form as soon as possible or else risk losing the title once again. For this, their top players have to be in the form of their lives, which includes Lindsay Krause. The senior who plays as an outside hitter has been vital to her team ever since her arrival in 2021 and will hope to recreate the same magic here. To achieve this, she has the perfect support system too, in the form of her parents.

Lindsay Krause was born to Pat Krause and Joanna Draper on December 11th, 2002. Growing up, both of them supported their daughter a lot in her pursuit to identify a sport that she could play in. In the end, she decided to choose volleyball. Since then, her family, which also includes two older brothers, Landon and Connor, has shown her constant support in her endeavors, helping her further her playing career.

Lindsay Krause was a huge prospect in her high school Skutt Catholic as she led them to four Nebraska Class B State titles. This caught the attention of the Nebraska Huskers, who recruited her for the 2021 season. Since then, she has been a vital player for the team, with her parents always by her side.

On the occasion of Father’s Day, Lindsay Krause uploaded an Instagram post with a carousel of pictures that included her and Pat Krause. In the caption, she revealed that not only does her father attend the home games but also her away fixtures. The caption read, “Happy Father’s Day to this goon. He’s never missed an away match and is the master of the awkward selfie ✨🫶🏻” Thus, Lindsay’s parents have been supportive of her volleyball ambitions from the start. This might be the reason for her incredible success at such a young age.

Major career highlights and achievements of Lindsay Krause

It has been for a long time evident that Lindsay Krause was destined for big things in volleyball. When she was still in high school, many who followed their games were able to tell that she was talented enough as she emerged as the 2020 High School National Player of the Year. The awards for her accomplishments at school didn’t stop there, as she was recognized three-time All-American by PrepVolleyball.com. As expected, her form improved in college to become one of the vital players of her team. In her very first season, she achieved 267 kills and a kill rate of 2.38 per set. For that, she was named a part of the Big Ten All-Freshman team of the year. And these heroics only further increased the people’s expectations. However, since then, Lindsay Krause has not only met but surpassed the expectations of the spectators.

For this reason, she has added several achievements to her name. This includes being named in the Academic All-Big Ten, Tom Osborne Citizenship Team, Nebraska Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll, and Big Ten distinguished scholar. Thus, she has proven her mettle time and time again.

While Lindsay Krause has had many achievements throughout her collegiate career, she still had the potential of adding more accolades to her name till now. However, an unfortunate injury came in the way of her pursuing this feat. In October last year, Lindsay suffered a huge ankle injury during training just after her incredible performance against Penn State, where she managed to put up 13 kills in total.

It would take six months for her to recover from it after not suffering through any other setbacks in that period. “I’m feeling really good,” Lindsay told HurrdatSports.com after her return. She added, “My vertical is still work in progress; it’s coming back and getting higher every week. I did not do actual floor jumping for about five months, so it was a little weird for a little while, but it’s getting higher every week.” Since then, the player has been busy with her senior season, where her team, the Nebraska Huskers, would need her to step up now as they look to regain their form back from the Penn State. Most are expecting Lindsay to do that, as a player of her talent cannot be kept quiet for too long.
