“More-Than-a-Million-Dollar…”: Megan Rapinoe Shed Light on How She Will Maintain Her Influence After Saying Goodbye to Soccer

Megan Rapinoe of the NSWL is known for her direct-to-point answers and confident demeanor. She has seen both sides of the coin, insults and applause, yet remains unfazed by both. As a captain of her team, it is no doubt her daring attitude comes to aid for her. And this is one of the reasons why she’s making headlines this week.

As her last WNBA season is to begin soon, she has announced her plans. She recently gave a byte to the New York Times, calling out on the pressing matter that deserves attention. Further, she talked about almost everything that had her passion locked, from sexism in sports to politics.

Megan Rapinoe discusses post-retirement plans

Recently in an interview with New York Times journalist, she took on burning questions. Those were the likes of sexism in soccer, unfair payment for female athletes, and the blatant politicization of the sport. When delving towards her personal goals or wishes or any activities she wished for post her retirement, she had an answer ready. Megan is currently running 37 and had to sit out the last season due to an ACL injury.

When asked if this star had any plans for herself after being done with professional soccer, she just had the right answer. She said, “That’s the million-dollar question. Hopefully the more-than-a-million-dollar question. What does it look like afterwards? How do I package myself into something that I want to do…?.”

Then she added on a few probable wishes she has, one of them is having her television show. Yet, from the overall tone of the answer, one could say she still had a lot to decide.

Future plans for Rapinoe

Staying relevant in a cut-throat world isn’t easy. Especially in the contemporary world, where there is an influx of new talents every day. Still, Megan seems to be unfazed. She knows her worth and her capabilities. But, it is no doubt that whether she goes on to make a career for herself in television or politics, she will ace it. All in all, her fan’s best wishes are always with her.
