An imposing 130 kg wrestler representing Sunkist is gearing up for a monumental moment in his career. Just six days shy of his 23rd birthday, he’s preparing for his seventh appearance at the prestigious 2023 World Championships. This remarkable feat underscores his exceptional experience, an achievement that most wrestlers can only dream of throughout their entire careers.

His wrestling journey has been a remarkable odyssey marked by achievements that sound like something straight out of a wrestler’s fantasy. In 2017, he clinched the Cadet World title. The following year, he secured a Junior bronze in 2018, and in 2019, he took home a silver. His domestic triumphs are equally impressive, consistently reaching the finals of the US Senior Trials events and proudly wearing four National crowns in just four years. Not to forget his impressive NCAA Division I runner-up status in 2022, and a consistent record as an All-American. Schultz’s list of accolades is as impressive as it gets.

However, what truly sets Cohlton Schultz apart isn’t just his remarkable achievements, but his relentless pursuit of improvement and unwavering dedication to the sport itself. For Schultz, it’s not merely about winning titles but the sheer joy of wrestling. Every moment on the mat is a chance to grow, learn, and compete at his best. As he gears up for the Greco-Roman World Championships in Belgrade, Serbia, Schultz faces familiar challenges with a competitive spirit. His bracket is filled with formidable opponents, but he thrives on the challenge, always looking to conquer new heights.

Despite being a well-known figure in the wrestling world, Schultz maintains a relatively low profile on social media. He values close connections and prefers to focus on those who genuinely matter to him. When asked about his favorite international heavyweights to watch, Schultz mentions Riza Kayaalp, a wrestler with whom he shares a similar build and a growing friendship

However, while Schultz is well-acquainted with top competitors, his primary focus is on defeating them rather than merely spectating. This seemed like the case at the World Championships 2023, where Schultz went mercilessly after his opponent, Czechslovakia’s Marcel Albini. In a video posted by FloWrestling, you see the last few seconds of Schultz’ match against Albini, where the latter is seen desperately tapping out after being pinned by the American wrestler.

Despite the dominating win, however, Schultz did not manage to make it past Round 16.
