The Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating Contest is one of the unique events out there. Held during the Independence Day of America, the competition hosts various people who devoured dozens of hot dogs. One man dominates the competition every time, and he is Joey “Jaws” Chestnut. He is the master of this competition and stuffs hot dogs as no one can. However, after the tournament, Chestnut smelled like a walking hot dog.

He explained how people would feel tired after eating a heavy meal during Thanksgiving and mentioned how it was “really, really bad” after the competition. Sharing his name with the iconic “Friends” character, Joey Tribbiani, it is no surprise why he can eat a lot.
The legendary Joey Chestnut
One must wonder how he does this regularly, risking his health. During the 2021 Eating Contest, Joey jabbed 76 hots dogs in ten minutes, breaking his own world record, which was astonishing. However, the aftermath of this competition has a detrimental effect on his body. Explaining the body odor, Chestnut opened up on the problems of smelling differently.

“People have told me they can smell the hot dogs. I really can’t, but the sweat afterward, it feels sticky and greasy. My girlfriend says it smells different,” said Chestnut, preparing for this year’s event. After the competition, he heads back to the hotel and sleeps after a tiring day. It takes two days to become completely normal and the food to digest. Cleansing after every competition, he is looking forward to competing in the 2022 Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating Contest.

But, there are reports he is competing with an injury. During the Major League Eating weigh-ins, he ruptured a tendon in his leg, but that doesn’t keep him down. As he prepares his crutches to enter the event, Chestnut has bigger goals and a big heart to win again. “I’m gonna eat like a madman. It’s a ruptured tendon. It’s all right. I’ll be able to stand up and eat. I’m excited. I’m not eating with my leg,” mentioned Chestnut.

Usain Bolt’s date with 100 nuggets!
Hearing a world-class athlete having 100 nuggets a day is strange. For an athlete who plans to run the biggest race of his life, Usain Bolt ate 100 nuggets, French fries, and apple pies in 2008. It was strange, and people wondered what he did. But, he smashed the 100 and 200-meter world records at the 2008 Beijing Olympics.
The greatness of the man is just incredible. Although most athletes won’t prefer this approach, Bolt’s approach to sprinting is extraordinary. From Joey eating multiple hot dogs in ten minutes to Bolt running fast in ten seconds, it is remarkable to see these men love what they do. Both Joey and Bolt are legends in their own right! Can Chestnut win the competition with crutches in his hands?
