The production environment of the Batman show set was quite troubled as actors had limited screen time. Actors would mostly perform the stunts that they were directed to do. Sadly, Bruce Lee who was a storehouse of brilliant martial art techniques, was demoted to just a sidekick. However, he was not one to settle for less.
Bruce Lee avoided the instructions and performed the stunts that he liked. His antics would include putting a dime on top of a six-foot-high gimbal, jumping into the air, and then side-kicking the dime across the stage. In off-camera, Lee would perform two-finger push-ups and challenge stuntmen to compete in arm wrestling contests with him.
His antics were vividly noticed by American actor, Vans Williams. In the biography, he revealed that Lee was his hyperactive younger brother to him on the set who would never set still. He would run around the set making the most of showing his antics. However, once it happened that Bruce Lee performed his famous jump kick that ended up kicking a set designer?s ear lobe. That was the end of his antics show on the set. William stated, ?He dislocated his jaw. That ended the Bruce Lee kicking on the set.?
