Allyson Felix balancing everything

In her brief career, the 11-time Olympic medalist has inspired many people about mental health. She has frequently discussed how being an athlete and a mother is not that difficult. Speaking with Romper during an interview, Allyson described how a mother could cope with anything.

Allyson mentioned, “To be able to say, ‘You don’t have to choose between motherhood and anything else, is a small thing that you can do for women and to be able to show up for them in that way.” However, throughout her career, Felix has demonstrated that she is adept at managing changes and balancing various factors. The former track and field athlete added, “It doesn’t have to be this perfect scenario to be able to have a loud voice.”

She concluded, “You can be scared just like me and move forward. You can also start small; you don’t have to yell from the rooftops. Sometimes we feel ‘I have to shake everything up to make change or have impact,’ and I don’t think that that’s always necessary.” Allyson took a break during her pregnancy in 2017 and returned when her daughter turned eight months old. Her passion for running seemed unaffected even after being a mother.
