Allyson Felix took to her Instagram account to share a series of images from an eventful day on the tennis court. She captioned the images, “In our tennis girl era.” One of those who responded was current WTA World No. 1 Iga Swiatek. Swiatek wrote in the comments, “That’s amazing.” Taylor Townsend, too, reacted to the same post. Townsend wrote, “YEESSSS!!! Here for this all the way! Let’s get on the court together.”

Embracing motherhood has proved to be a pivotal move for Allyson Felix. She returned to the track with the Tokyo Olympics after giving birth to her daughter. Allyson Felix ran that 400m race with shoes from her own brand, Saysh. The launch of the line was inspired by her former sponsor’s decision to pay her less after her child was born. Felix most recently partnered with the Women’s Sports Foundation and Athleta to advocate childcare grants for female athletes. She knows via personal experience how fulfilling motherhood is. Felix is also vocal about the complications that can arise during pregnancy.

Allyson Felix’s former teammate, Tori Bowie, died of childbirth-related complications at eight months pregnancy. As Felix mentioned to Olympics.com, she does not want her friend’s death to be in vain. While she wants more kids herself, she also wants to be around to enjoy motherhood, she added.
