In 2003, Usain Bolt set the record for 200m in the U-18 category. During a Florida meet a while ago, Erriyon ran the 200m in 20.11 seconds. This meant he had beaten the previous records set. But less than 30 days later, Knighton ran a personal best of 19.88 to beat Bolt’s record in the U-20 category in the same event.

When?asked?about who he thinks his running style is like, he replied, “Usain Bolt.” Such a comparison seemed bold but has now proven to be apt since he has beaten two of Bolt’s youth records in the 200m category.

While many seek to gain the spotlight, Erriyon is one of the few who aims to avoid it. The prodigy’s team has always politely downplayed all requests for an interview, and the teenager had nothing but business on his mind when he was in Eugene.

After defeating Noah Lyles in his preliminary and semi-final heats, Eugene calmly walked off the track and avoided being interviewed.

Comparable to Usain Bolt, Erriyon had a considerably delayed start to his career, but in just a few years, he has become one of the best on the planet.

At 17, he beat out Fred Kerley and veteran Isiah Young, to qualify for the Tokyo Olympics. Although according to him, he hadn’t done his best, he still made the team with a time of 19.84seconds.
