A life-size bronze statue honoring Bolt from the Blue will be officially unveiled on July 15 in Miramar, Florida. The Olympic relay gold champion Briana Williams trained at the Ansin Sports Complex, where the structure is positioned. The city’s vice mayor, Alexandra Davis, released an exclusive glimpse of the statue just two weeks before its official unveiling, and it quickly went viral online.

According to Jamaican news outlet Loop News, the project cost a whopping $250,000 and was made by renowned sculptor Basil Watson. The statue is a public artwork made to promote art in all areas of the city and was financed by Art in Public Spaces. The Mayor says, “The statue will not only boost economic development but also serve as an inspiration for aspiring athletes of all ages and backgrounds.” While Bolt has never competed in the facility, the statue serves as an inspiration for aspiring athletes.

Recently, many sprinters have come close to his world?s fastest-man record, however, the stint still seems far away with more than five unbeatable records titles to his name. Another statue of Bolt was made by the same sculptor and stands tall in front of Kingston?s National Stadium, Jamaica where he started his career in track and field. The most recent sculpture too has its own significance.
