The Olympic Champion Kirani James gave a impeccable performance at the men’s 400m in the Prefontaine Classic. He made Grenada proud by performing his magic on the tracks and holding off a challenge from two Americans to win the men’s 400m. He created the season best with 44.30s. It was a close call though, between him, and American sprinters, Quincy Hall, and Vernon Norwood.
Following his victory, Travis Miller posted an appreciation post for the players on his X (formerly known as Twitter) account. Sharing the winning spree from the tracks of Eugene, Miller captioned the post, “Season’s best in the EugeneDL win.”
It was really a close call between James and American icons, Quincy Hall and Vernon Norwood, as they clocked 44.44 and 44.61 respectively. Following them was their compatriot Bryce Deadmon who crossed the finish line at 44.90.

Nonetheless, Jamaican sprinter Rusheen McDonald finished at 45.10 securing the fifth position. Following him was Leungo Scotch with 45.18 and Gilles Biron at 45.51. Every athlete did their best to nab the win, but Kirani James stood atop the podium after clinching the victory. After the disqualification at the World Athletics Championships in Budapest, it indeed was a redemption for him.

However, he faced a setback at the World Athletic Championships in Budapest where he was disqualified after finishing fifth in the race. Running in Lane 4, the 31-year-old secured the fifth position with the timeframe of 44.52, but it was eventually declared that James was disqualified on the grounds of lane infringement.
This was absolutely an unexpected ending for him and the track and field community for his race. Even after this result, his ardent followers did not leave his side and were cheering for him. So, after this disqualification, attaining the title at men’s 400m in the Diamond Leagues Final was his terrific comeback.
