The American Olympian is a two-time medalist in hammer throw in the World Junior Championship. It started in 2008 when he won the silver medal in his personal best throw of 75.88 m at the World Junior Athletics Championship. He converted that to gold in the 2010 World Junior Championship while competing for Princeton University at a distance of 80.79 m.

However, what makes Conor legendary is his 14-year-old uncontested throw that athletes still haven?t been able to break. The throw that he did at the National Scholastic Indoor Championship (NSIC) in 2009.

A throw beyond reach for over a decade

The NCAA champion Conor McCullough made a high school record throw of 28.43 m in the weight at the NSIC meet in 2009. The record has remained uncontested on this very date. No one in 14 years has broken that record. The athletic world is still amazed by the throw. It is hard to imagine that the record will ever be broken. With the quality of weights now, with the types of balls, he would?ve thrown 90 or 95ft. Conor McCullough was the NCAA Division 1 Outdoor Track and Field Champion in 2015. He started his career at Princeton University and enrolled at USC in 2014. He has an impressive career with a time World U20 Champion, a Pan American Bronze medal, a World U20 Championship silver medal, and one time NCAA champion.

Apart from that, in 2012, he qualified for the Olympic trials. Qualifying for the Summer Olympics in 2016, he was the top American in the Olympic Hammer throw standings. What makes the video and the record so special is the technical prowess that Conor showed during the event. There were not a lot of height and weight advantages with him, but the way he just threw it was very skillful at an elite level.
