Michael Norman was one of the athletes to watch out for at the USATF Golden Games. The 25-year-old athlete was all set to face off the Olympic medalist Fred Kerley at the much-awaited 200m. However, at the big moment, it was Kerley who edged past Norman and won the race.

Post the Games, Michael has revealed that he is very disappointed in himself. After he missed the Olympic team by one spot, Norman was gearing up for the Golden Games, where he hoped to prove himself. Along with Kerley, he is one of the few athletes who ran multiple distance events.

But Michael Normal came second at the Golden Games 200m final with a timing of 19.83 seconds. Chiefly, the former NCAA Champion was not at all happy with his performance.

Notably, Norman is one of the three men to go sub 10 seconds in 100m, sub 20 seconds in 200m, and sub 44 seconds in 400m. The other two are Fred Kerley himself and Wayde Van Niekerk, respectively. This just proves how versatile Norman is as an athlete.

The 200m was the main attraction of the USATF Golden Games on Sunday. The United States entirely dominated the podium. But Norman expressed that he could have done better.

?I was like, I just don?t have it,? in the final meters against Kerley, Norman said on CNBC. ?It?s a really big disappointing feeling.?

Michael was completely disheartened, even though he himself earned a medal. He revealed that he was going to do a lot more than this in the coming-up events of the season.

“I?ve been working really hard, but there?s a lot more to be done,” added the track and field star.

?He also added that he got a bit too excited and therefore, this distracted him from the race. He did, however, beat his teammate Rai Benjamin for the 2nd position.

Norman is ready to rematch Kerley

But, Norman isn’t one to give up too easily. After the race, he congratulated rival Fred Kerley on his win and challenged him to a rematch. He knows he could have done better, but he isn’t all too mad about his timing. Notably, Fred Kerley won the race with 19.80 seconds. Norman was just 3 seconds behind.

He revealed that he would like to race Kerley again and demanded a rematch. However, the Golden Games are just the beginning of the season. There are many more events to watch out for, including the big World Athletics Outdoor Championships.
