Maintaining an impeccable record is something that motivates every sportsperson around the world. However, for US runner Grant Holloway, the benchmark is higher than most others. The former Florida athlete has the top ten fastest time in the country’s history and has been undefeated in the 60m hurdles race since 2014. With such a staggering statistic, Holloway is once again eyeing another major win as the World Indoor Championships arrive in Glasgow this weekend.

The three-time World Championships gold medalist and indoor 60m hurdles world record holder Holloway has retained an elite status among his peers since the beginning of his professional career. With the 2024 Paris Olympics coming up, Holloway, like other athletes, is also looking to make every opportunity count on the way, and the Commonwealth Arena will present another chance for the Olympian to do so.

In a recent X (formerly Twitter) post by NBC Sports, Holloway’s impressive professional journey has been shed light upon. Along with that, the post also speculates what Holloway has in store as he takes on the 60m hurdles once again in Glasgow. “Grant Holloway looks to add another 60m hurdles world championship to his STACKED resume this weekend!“, reads the post, while giving the viewers a glance at what the 2020 Olympic medalist has achieved throughout his illustrious career, hinting that another addition to the medal cabinet wouldn’t be too surprising.

Holloway’s unreal winning streak was accentuated once again earlier this month as he set a new 60m hurdles world record at the US Indoor Championships in New Mexico. Registering 7.27 seconds on the clock, Holloway breezed past his previous best by 0.02 seconds to claim the new record. Understandably, hopes for another win in Glasgow were bolstered.

The recent post also reminds his fans that Holloway is running high on 60 consecutive wins in the 60m hurdles, making his followers unite in dreams of seeing the athlete on the top of the podium in Paris later this year. Considering his fixation on crossing the finishing line first in the event, it may not be too far-fetched to begin the festivities either.

A stellar line-up waiting to pounce

Holloway will be accompanied by a long list of explosive names who are looking to display their worth with the Olympics inching closer. The six-time world champion Noah Lyles will surely be the main attraction at the tournament, while the 2018 World Indoor Champion Christian Coleman will also be bringing out A-game for the occasion. Middle-distance runner and 2015 Pan Am Games Clayton Murphy is also determined to land in Glasgow with all guns blazing.
