Lately, the Olympic champion Michael Johnson has been quite active on Twitter. The track and field legend has been reacting to comments on the sport. However, this time, it’s a little special, since it’s about the Boston Celtics coach Ime Udoka.

Track legends criticized Boston Celtics coach for controversial comment

As a coach and mentor, Udoka always wants to see his team on top, and for that, he made a track and field reference while motivating his players for the upcoming matches. He said“One thing we talked about is we’re a basketball team, we’re not a track team. We’re not running from people.” The controversy started brewing, as social media picked this comment.

Taking a dig at the Boston Celtics coach, Olympic champion Michael Johnson wrote on his Twitter handle, “He don’t understand track!” with a laughing emoji.

Another track and field Olympian, Justyn Knight, criticized the comment made by Udoka. He wrote“As a Track and Field athlete I do NOT approve this message.”

Surely Udoka didn’t mean it in the wrong way. He was probably trying to propel his team to be fearless. Although, his choice of words gave Twitteratis something to debate upon.
