Scottish track and field star, who is praised for her skills as a middle and long-distance runner, has made a very good impression at the Dubai Marathon in 2025. She came up with a personal best result for the marathon after dealing with the early setbacks on her athletic path, and her story is a real comeback success. The new year comes with new opportunities, and so does the Scottish middle- and long-distance runner, Eilish McColgan, who has lived up to her best timing.
McColgan participated in the Dubai Marathon 2025 and finished the marathon in just 31:14 seconds. Distance? A whole 10 km distance has been covered by her in around 31 seconds only. For this success, she shared her emotions. It’s her fastest 10 km in three years, since she ran her British record of 30:19 at the 2022 Great Manchester Run.
She came in third place in the women’s 10 km behind Gemene Tunku and Chaltu Diriba, both of whom clocked in at 31:03. Talking to Athletic Weekly, she told about her initial feelings while running. Eilish McColgan said, “I did; I sort of was really pushing the pace right from the very beginning, so I felt like a lot of people were sort of right behind me and clipping up my heels.” She further explained, “So yeah, I found it tough; probably that last 2 miles it was a little bit harder than I would have liked just ’cause I’d done a lot of work early on.”

She talked about her next run, “Next up is probably a half marathon, um, most like the Burj one here. I have never done that before. So, yeah, it’s a very iconic group; obviously, from Burj Khalifa to Burj Arab. So, um, yeah, really looking forward to that as well.”
As McColgan is looking forward to the half marathon, it is to be seen what time she will finish it. Is she going to make a record for herself, as the 10k distance, or not? What do you think about her performance? Do tell us in the comment section.
