Houston Cougars Freshman Cayden Broadnax’s quartet team consisting of Shaun Maswanganyi, Trey East III, and Davonte Burnett showcased their dominance in the 4*200m event held at the Mike. A. Myers Track and Soccer Stadium on March 30.

The University of Houston Track & Field program the men’s 4×200-meter relay captivated the crowd by recording the world’s best time in the event.  After achieving the greatest win, the rising track and field star, Cayden Broadnax has thrived in carrying on his family legacy. Houston Cougars freshman, Cayden’s remarkable feat

Ridge Point High School freshman Cayden Broadnax’s relays shone brightly in the men’s 4×200-meter event. Broadnax’s teammates senior Shaun Maswanganyi, junior Trey East III, and senior Davonte Burnett posted the fastest time of 1:21.55 ever in Texas, securing first place on the final day of the event.

In 2023, Cayden Broadnax won several accolades. winning the 2023 Texas Relays in 100m, he finished fourth place. In addition to this, the young track star Cayden also received the honor of becoming the  2023 UIL Region 3 6A Champion in the 100m race event. Broadnax also left his mark by earning the Carl Lewis Indoor Invitational Male Athlete of the Meet title in 2023. And now, he maintained his family’s long-standing heritage by winning the 4×200-meter relay in Texas recently.

Cayden Broadnax has grown up in the hands of the most accomplished track stars in Olympic history. He learned sprinting skills from his mother Ebonie Floyd-Davis. She was an Olympian track and field athlete, who also inspired the world, claiming a four-time NCAA All-American honor at Houston.

Cayden Broadnax’s father Ronald Broadnax also showcased his dominance as a track athlete at Houston. Apart from that, his Stepfather, Walter Davis was also a two-time World Champion and Olympian in track at LSU. Apart from his parents, his grandparents Stanley Floyd, and Delisa Walton were also the most celebrated track stars, they won Olympic medals. His grandfather also achieved the award of being the 2021 Hall of Honor in Houston. His Grandmother, Delisa astonished the track enthusiasts with her performance in Tennessee.

Moreover, Cayde’s uncle and aunt Xavier and Kalyn Floyd also competed in the Houston track and field program.
