Quincy Wilson rose to popularity in 2024, owing to his major high school accolades. Wilson added to his accolades by earning a spot on Team USA for the 4x400m event. And he went on to help his team win an Olympic Gold at the Paris Olympics. This has propelled his status as one of the hottest prospects in the track and field community.
And Wilson used this Olympic popularity to the fullest. He has secured significant sponsorships and made appearances in interviews and TV shows. He did it all! Even when he returned to track recently, he kept his hype up from the last year and dominated the grid. Recently, he found himself spending time watching an NFL game, but the fans of the league didn’t take his presence well, as they were unwelcoming.

Remember the Marine Corps Holiday Classic? Surprisingly, Quincy Wilson ran in the 600m event. And what did he achieve? Wilson ran a blistering 1:17.19, and not only did he break his personal best in the category, but he also set a benchmark in the track meet by lodging a meet record. Indeed, this performance was iconic, as he was faster than last time, and the difference was 0.19 seconds. Might not sound like much, but it is an astronomical unit in track and field. But his opponents? Nowhere to be found. Even the podium finishers were way behind him, and that showcased the difference between a high school athlete and someone who has run in an Olympic event.
However, the official track and field season for the pros is yet to start, and there will be many aspirations for the youngsters too. At just 17 years old, he has a lot of potential for success in the future. However, his interests extend beyond the high school track and field scene. Like? Attending an NFL game, maybe. Well, fans spotted him at the recent match between the Baltimore Ravens and the Pittsburgh Steelers at the M&T Bank Stadium.
“Quincy is back,” the Ravens’ official X account posted on their profile, and they also attached a video. In the clip, it’s visible that Wilson is having a fantastic time on the football field. Indeed, as the camera panned toward him, the big screen of the M&T Bank Stadium displayed him as the “Olympic gold medalist.” And what did he do? Looking at the crowd, he acknowledged any fans in the stands with a wave. However, is it his first time with the Baltimore Ravens?

Absolutely not! Right after he secured his Olympic gold medal, Wilson was spotted with the Ravens, wearing the accolade. Indeed, many prominent footballers from the club, including Zay Flowers, rushed to him to check out the gold medal, recognizing it as the highest honor an athlete can achieve. They were astonished to meet the newly crowned Olympic champion, who was only 16 years old at the time. Although the NFL players had no trouble interacting with Wilson, the fans’ reaction when they saw him in the stadium from the video clip was less than favorable.

Who tf is Quincy.” Similarly, another fan wrote, “Bro been an NFL fan for a long time, but never seen this kid in my life. Who tf is this?” Another comment read, “Who?”
But Wilson wasn’t the only one who felt the impact of these harsh remarks. Prior to him, numerous prominent Olympians had made appearances in NFL games, and the fans of the sport responded similarly to them. And who were they? Simone Biles and Jordan Chiles spend a significant amount of time watching football, but even when they attend to support their favorite team, they often receive random hate from the audience.
