This year has not been a good one for the track and field icon Fred Kerley. After getting knocked out of 100m competition, he has lost his $55,000 possession to robbery. Fredrick Lee Kerley is an American track and field sprinter who took the first steps of his career in 2020 by competing in the 400 meters. He has earned multiple medals at the World Championship in the 400m and 4 x 400m relay. He also attained 100m gold in the 2022 edition.

After competing in the 2023 World Athletics Championship, the track and field star has now lost his car in a robbery. He has raised the concern on his social media account and is waiting to take some actions on the matter. His admirers have filled his comment section with all their concerns and consolations. Such mishap with an icon like him was completely unexpected.

Sprinter Fred Kerley is astonished with the situation he is in right now. It is definitely not the year he planned for himself. After facing a professional setback, he just lost his car to a robbery that took place in the driveway of his house. He shared a passionate appeal on social media explaining the entire situation and asking the public for some assistance regarding the matter. This situation has created a question of security for the sprinter as the robbery took place in broad daylight.

He shared the CCTV footage of the entire incident on his Instagram. In the video, a group of masked men are seen getting into Kerley’s car. This incident has happened in the driveway of his Miami’s home. The robbers arrived in a different car before robbing Fred, who had two vehicles in the driveway. One of the men is seen getting into one of the cars, as the other makes his way towards the Fred’s silver Audi S5. Eventually, the other robber hops in the Audi and leaves the driveway.

Kerley shared a message under the video stating, “Please be on the lookout for my vehicle (Silver Audi S5). A couple of unguided young men stole my vehicle from my home in Miami” He further added, “If you see this vehicle or know any of these young men, please message me or call the local authorities.” This appeal shows how hard of a time it must be for the sprinter. After the 2023 World Athletics Championships blow, it is safe to say that this another setback might be very ghastly for Kerley.

In the 2023 World Athletics Championships in Budapest, Fred Kerly who was the defending champion surprisingly couldn’t make it past the semi-finals in the men’s 100m. He gave a thrilling performance in Oregon last year attaining the win in a time of 9.86. However, in the semi-finals he could only attain the third position.

Kerley’s time of 10.02 was not enough to see him through to the final contest. Leaving him behind, his contenders Noah Lyles and Christian Coleman secured their places for the finals. Kerley was in a good form the entire year but was not ready for the last three heats.

Lyles took the first position with a time of 9.87 and just after him was Coleman with a time of 9.88 which made Kerley out of the race for the finals. After this disappointing situation at his professional front, the robbery at his house was like rubbing salt to his wounds.
